I just watched the fight & too be honest I expected more. Wach was in good shape but he is 42. I had Wach winning rounds 3 & 4 & he was able to land cleanly with ALL his punches. Jabs to the body, uppercuts & straight rights. He marked up Makhmudov’s face & backed him up several times with punches. Wach isn’t known as a big puncher so that kind of surprised me.

Secondly Makhmudov has a little Wilder windmill in him & he was telegraphing his punches. Wach was able to get out of the way most of the time which at 6’8 260 seemed kind of alarming to me. He has power but I see a lot of cracks in his defence. A boxer with speed, power & counterpunching ability might have a easier nights work than some might think. He swings so wildly with his punches a guy with a good left hook might be able to really do some damage on a counter hook. I also noticed Mak hitting Wach behind the head a half dozen times if not more in this fight.

The turrets thing someone mentioned was hilarious. Constant blinking & neck moment. The guy can’t sit still.

I need to see more of this guy. I think he will have trouble with the top guys in the division. Hrgovic & Makhmudov should fight since they have trouble getting opponents. They should feed the Grizzly to the Lion…

      Hrgovic & Makhmudov...
That's where Makhmudov is at right now... That's the kind of opponent he should get... Sure when he nails you that hurts and you're most probably done in a barrage .... But I still don't see a top 10 potential and he looks vulnerable at times (Wide opened to counters)... So yeah, his path to me is in the up and rising other LHW of this world... He needs to be tested, but not by experienced top guys who will absolutely expose his flaws...

I take my hat off to Wach he gave forth a great effort, earned every penny tonight.
One of those fights where I come away more impressed with the loser tbh

Please give me Makmuhdov vs Joyce next
It would be the first time in Joyce's career that he was in with a guy even slower than him! I would make The Juggernaught a big favourite. Despite his apparent clumsiness, Joyce has developed the knack of controlling distance with his feet and getting himself into the right positions at the right time. I think he would evade or smother Makhmudov's predictable attacks and slowly pummel him into submission with the jab, like he did with DDD.
