he was alright.
Terry Norris was the greatest!

Terry Norris was near the complete package in terms of power, speed, and boxing ability. simply put, the guy was a nasty offensive fighter, and his boxing IQ was pretty darn good too when he disciplined himself.
problem was his chin was shaky and he could be reckless as hell. if you shook him once his strategy went flying out of the window and he would go to war.
he totally could lose control in a fight, lol. he had what, 3 fights end in DQs. and he could have had more with the right refs.
it was entertaining stuff, but his lack of self restraint brought him down a bit, haha.
still, he had an impressive run at 154, and I would favor him over quite a few of the other best guys at 154Comment

John Mugabi hahahahahahaJust think about it: he beat Sugar Ray like he was a kid, prime Sugar Ray or not he still was only 34. He killed Donald Curry and Meldrick Taylor and John Mugabi. He had virtually (and that is the right word, for he looked like he wasn't real!
) unrivalled speed, movement, reflexes and timing. When he threw that left hook it was like a missile!
So why have people forgotten him?
Leonard vs Norris

He wasn't unstoppable. Leonard and Taylor were well past there best, Taylor was certainly shot.
He has some good wins like over Mugabi, but his chin is always a factor which is why he'd always lose to guys like Jackson etc.Comment

I don't think Taylor was shot, he was not the same after the Chavez fight for sure, he was a titlist at 147 and had a decent run before taking the Norris fight at 154. Taylor definitely didn't belong at 154, the size difference was quite big.
I think Leonard was more shot than Taylor was when Norris got to them.Comment

Norris' wins over Leonard and Taylor arent his whole career. he beat some pretty high level ranked fighters at the time, like Jorge Fernando Castro, Vince Pettaway, Donald Curry, Rene Jacquot, Carl Daniels, Maurice Blocker, Simon Brown, Mugabi, and Paul Vaden too.Comment

Curry wasn't the same either after Honeyghan got to him.Comment

Meldrick Taylor was not shot when he lost to Norris but he was when he lost to Espana.
Taylor's problem was that at the higher weights he did not have enough power to keep people off him and he was too short.Comment
