Aside from the Leonard and Taylor fights, he was pretty good. I love his win over John Mugabi. Classic.

Liked Norris very much, certainly wasn't a prime SRL though.
Good fighter quite a short peak really.
Can't put him in the upper reaches really maybe with a better chin he would have had a shot.

Ray Leonard and Meldrick Taylor seemed to be more in the "past-their-prime" category rather than "shot" going into the Norris fights, but looked shot in those bouts with Norris. Taylor had fought well against Aaron Davis, and then against the lesser Ernie Chavez, but looked vulnerable against Glenwood Brown. Then the bouts with Norris and Cristano Espana, he just looked awful. Leonard, likewise, hadn't looked all that great against Donny Lalonde, and the 1989 bouts with Tommy Hearns and Roberto Duran, but much better than he did versus Norris.

I guess it took them being in there with a fast, powerful guy like Norris to show their "shotness".

Norris had some other solid wins over his career though. Jorge Castro, John Mugabi, Carl Daniels....he was beautiful combination puncher, very crisp shots. Good mix of speed and power. Unfortunately he was a hothead which caused him to committ ****** fouls, or get into brawls when unnecessary and which allowed opponents to take advantage of his shaky chin.

Terry Norris was the greatest at hitting opponents when they were down, in the back of the head, or after the bell.

He mightve had a short peak period, but he was unstoppable at his peak! A monster. And that last comment was cruel. Sure you are not just angry at him for beating up Leonard and Meldrick??

I like Norris, but I just laughed at times at what a hothead he was.

Kenny Bayless is in the middle of the fighters, saying "that's another warning, that's another warning", the bell rings, and Norris steps around Bayless to punch Luis "Emmy Nominee" Santana in the face.

Norris goes "what did I do wrong?"

Yeah, that was unnecessary. Got him dq'd twice.
