Ryan Garcia: Gervonta Davis doesn’t really want to be great, I would love to fight George Kambosos Jr
        February 16, 2022

On what happened with the Manny Pacquiao negotiations in 2021

“(Pacquiao) was a strong learning lesson. I take full responsibility, because I shouldn’t have posted a fight poster when it wasn’t done yet. I just wanted to see how fans would react. Obviously, it got over a million likes. The thing is, though, that fight was actually, really trying to get made. I FaceTimed Manny Pacquiao, he wanted to do it, everyone wanted to do it. It fell through because the guy that wanted to fund it was just a lunatic. He was literally, I think he’s losing it a little bit. I’m not gonna say names, but he just had a lot of crazy ideas, he was going off the rails. Whatever he was saying, it was a lie, and it wasn’t going to get funded the way I thought it was. But I take full responsibility, I shouldn’t have posted a fight poster. I was just excited.”

I was in negotiations to fight Tank (Davis), but at the time when I got offered that, I’m, like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is amazing! I look up to this guy, I like how he fights, I think I know I can beat him. I see shots I can land on Manny Pacquiao, like, I should do this! This is crazy, if I beat him, this will be a legendary moment!’ Like, I was so excited.

On what happened with Tank Davis negotiations after that

(The Pacquiao fight) was way more money than Tank, and it was so exciting. I really wanted it to happen. It didn’t happen, and when I tried to go back to the Tank fight, Tank said, ‘**** you,’ and I’m, like, ‘Alright, I get it, I wasted some time on you guys,’ but they weren’t trying to make a real deal, to be honest. They were just testing out the waters, seeing where we’re at, seeing if they could get more on me. They’re supposedly a bigger star, when they’re not.

“But I don’t want to deal with those problems. I know that I bring — he could try to make a pay-per-view with somebody else, and I guarantee you it is not gonna do well. The only pay-per-view that’s gonna do well is him and myself. End of the day, you have to come up with a great deal that works for both of us.

“And no, you’re not a bigger star than me, do not say that. I’m probably more of a star than you, but you won’t admit it, so I’ll suck my ego up and say 50/50.”

This kid is still delusional! He really thinks that his internet following is just as important as his resume! He f'd up the Tank fight, and swerved Haney! Now he's fighting Emmanuel Tagoe! Incredible!

Gotta believe there’s a reason why Goosen hasn’t trained an elite fighter in years.
Remember when Gabriel Reulas retired at 28 because he killed Jimmy Garcia? I was a kid when that happened & I couldn't believe a fighter would quit boxing over that. That was a REAL reason to not have your heart in it,whereas Cherry Garcia is just a self centered, entitled btch, you can see it in how he treats his babys momma/women in general. He acts like a selfish coward.

I agree with that. Ryan talks a lot when he is going to fight someone else or the fighter he is talking about is signed to fight a different fighter. Calls out, names drops to promote himself.

But the both are delusional, that happens when they are constantly getting praised how great they are in their circles.

Garcia has the tools to be a great fighter but as most of us know, you need your mental game to be just as good as your physical. Garcia needs to get off social media and focus on his mental health and his career. He needs to grow up a bit basically

ryan garcia is all talk no action. he is more worried about protecting his 0 so he can call himself undefeated on youtuber podcasts.

I cant believe he had the audacity to pop up and start talking chit on social media about other fighters right after he cancelled one of his fights because he claimed he was too sad to fight but he obviously wasnt too sad to jump on twitter and start instigating chit with fighters he is unwilling to fight, also knowing he can hide behind his shield of "mental illness" because if the other fighters talk chit back his twitter army will cry that theyre "bullying" him. he can dish it out but not take it

Add the social media fixation, and it just seems like he's gone already, mentally, from boxing. And add to that all the fighters who are satisfied to fight a no-namer once per year. So we start thinking that's prob him too.

I guess time will tell. But only a little more time has to pass before it's obvious, I think.
I think the fact that Campbell knocked Garcia down actually had a greater impact than Ryan eventually stopping Luke.
