    Great post Friend.
I knew this thread would unleash the political science embedded in every combat sport forum; the good, the bad and the ugly. The issues associated with the current rosiisko-ukrainska viina are complex, obviously. For starters, contermporary aspirations aside, this has been a hotspot for a very long time, tied to Crimea (or the Tauric Peninsula), in the crosshairs of a dozen or more empires including the Greek, Persian, Roman and Byzantine. Because detente is better than armed conflict as measued in net gain, let's all hope it gets resolved peaceably, rather than serving as the death rattle of the entire West and the almost invariable slide into complete global human subjugation that would become the result of that.
But if the unity on display here at Boxing Scene is any indication of our collective prospects.......

Back to Boxing. The idea here is "Boxing in the News", "Boxing as Hard News", or "The Historically significant sport of Boxing, 3,000 years tied to the events of the world like no other sport". A theme along those lines, was the thread starter's intent.
My apologies for starting the thread....to all the people gathered here to celebrate and share our thoughts on a common interest....LOL.

      It's a little too preachy, a little too philosophical.....but:
As an aside, one of the biggest challenges that humans have as a creature, I've observed, is the difficulty we have gathering respect for ourselves without the ******* use of disrespect for others. I fall prey to this failing myself. For example, I don't give a hoot about what a non-soldier thinks about a war, what a non-mother thinks about pregnancy, or what a non pro fighter thinks about fighting. I give no respect for that. Calling Vitali Klitschko not brave? What a fool.

What I really came here to say is that the reason I like Wladimir Klit is that he's put his goddamn money where his mouth is and enlisted.

I'm actually anti-war, but its just that, In the UK, our bull**** politicians and media class have got a massive hard on for war, especially illegal middle eastern ones, and keep talking a big game, and keep calling the mass-anti war public traitors for opposing war, but would NEVER actually enlist themselves.

That's just for the little people. My statement on that: Go and fight your own ****ing war.

Also, I'm not having a nervous breakdown. You are

            I agree with you.

I think our 'war' is done. Unfortunately with 11 Marines, Doc and a Soldier killed.

All post soviet states not called Russia have been failures, all of them are third world countries now, ruled by corrupt, inept politicians who are just pawns of foreign countries, and in some cases like Belarus, by brutal dictators.

***** might be a dictator too, but nobody can deny what an effective leader he is. He turned Russia from an impoverished ****hole and weak laughingstock after the fall of the USSR and the disastrous Boris Yeltsin years, into a global superpower again. He's considered a superhero by most russians for a reason.

No more evil than baby Bush and his succesors invading and terrorizing Irak just to steal its oil

At least Russia and Ukraine share deep historical and cultural roots and half of Ukraine's population already speaks russian

The transition to russian rule will be easy to establish and mostly bloodless, just like it was in Crimea, if they leave Tsar ***** alone, that is.
You are a moron and I'm simply too lazy to explain why. Just trust me on that one. And give it a fee more years and "*****" will be mixed with dirt by all those who supported him. It's a Russian tradition.

Ok so wait a minute it's ok for people to declare ********* as not being a proper country but if you say the same thing about Israel it's Antisemitism? Interesting.

As far as Klitchscko goes that's respect he's willing to go down fighting for his country. I wonder what side Lomachenko and Usyk are picking though because they came out in Russian propaganda commercials and have publicly backed Russia.
