As to the fight itself, I think it might be better in reality than on paper. Rodriguez is undersized and untested but from what I've seen of him he is very impressive. Bam looks to have alot more potential than his brother and he has some very heavy hands. Cuadras has alot of mileage from hard living and hard fighting. Despite the difference in size and credentials, I wouldn't be surprised nof Bam pulls the upset.
Rodriguez is actually a fairly big favorite in this fight. Cuadras was +210 when i checked last night. I have honestly never seen rodriguez fight but cuadras is too good to be that much of a dog against a guy with 14 fights moving up in weight. I normally don't bet unless ive seen both guys fight but i had to lay some money on that one.

I'm seeing Bam as a significant favorite some places.

That surprises me. Guess I wouldn't make a very good handicapper.

Pretty wild that a young contender moving up in weight like that is a favorite against someone with the resume of Cuadras. And here I thought I'd be slick placing some money on Bam with the "upset". Haha.

Odds came out as him being an underdog yesterday and they flipped really fast.

Stylistically will be an interesting matchup but still how is it fair Rodriguez to be given this opportunity? To correct Rodriguez, San Antonio will not have another champion because your bro does not have a real belt
It's supposed to be a top 15 guy, but when it's short notice like this it all comes down to the governing bodies discretion on wether they choose to sanction it or not. Hearn will have applied for Bam to step in as a short notice replacement, and the WBC are obviously satisfied he's a credible opponent. It's early days for Bam, but we've seen worse fighters get a shot. It's a big gamble but he's a talented kid, and Cuadras may have seen one war too many.

Look at Vergil Ortiz of the many fights and former champions he’s fought and still hasn’t gotten a title fight and been patient about it
Sometimes it's just being in the right place at the right time. Sure, there are more deserving fighters, but on short notice many of them probably wouldn't take it, as they'd want a full training camp. But a young, hungry, ready to go prospect is gonna jump at the chance. Also given politics in boxing, this is a quick and easy fight to make as its the same promoter. A deal wouldn't get done so quickly with a rival promoters fighter.

I think this is an intriguing fight. I fancy Bam here. I think Cuadras may have been in one war too many. That said, how many times have we seen fighters at the twilight of their career find fresh legs so to speak. And Bam, as talented as he appears, is still lacking championship experience. Should make for a good fight. I'm dreadful at predictions though Lmao, but its fun trying
