Only top guys get world title shot at heavyweight nowadays

Just the facts: outside the circle Fury -Whyte-Joshua - Usyk all other guys can forget world title shots for a little.

Nobody even wants to fight Hrgovic for IBF mandatory position, because it is very unlikely that the mandatory gets the shot anytime soon.

Hell, that is very different than "golden" 90-s when all fringe contenders got their shots.

It's true, the titles are tied up with those four. With winners facing each other for undisputed and possible rematch clauses, it could be a long while before anyone else gets a shot.

I can understand why nobody cares to fight Hrgovic for a mandatory knowing their title shot may not happen until 2024. I may be stretching that time frame a little but I'm not far off. It's a load of crap that all the belts get tied up in repetitive fights against st the same people. I enjoy a good trilogy as much as the next guy but let's be honest we may never get another Gatti vs Ward again

There does seem to be some sort of clique of fighters, who are always in the talking for a title fight.

If you are outside of this clique, it will be difficult for you to get a title fight. The clique usually contains the most marketable fighters.

Joe Joyce for example, should get a title fight before Dubois 'But that may not be the case, I can see Dubois fighting for a belt before Joyce'.

Maybe the WBA belt which Trevor Bryan has etc

This observation, I have made is nothing new. There are is always a select few fighters, who the media seem to want to get behind.

I think the fighters create these situations themselves, through the fights they take and their performances 'That is show business'.

It is also about the Champions in power, only really Anthony Joshua as a champion 'Would take on all comers' pretty much the same way as Wladimir Kiltschko did etc

You have to be deemed worthy enough to face Tyson Fury. Deontay Wilder in terms of attitude was a better Champion than Fury.

Fury is repulsed by most Heavyweight contenders, he is insulted by the notion that most of them can challenge him.

I keep reading that the big fights don't get made at heavyweight.

Now the complaint is that only the big fights are made.

Which is it? And which would you prefer?

I mean, is this a bad thing? Shouldn't top guys fight each other?
