  • Comments Thread For: Fury-Whyte: WBC Sets February 21 Deadline For Both To Submit Signed Contracts For Title Fight

The WBC put Dillian Whyte on the clock Tuesday. Four days after Frank Warren submitted a whopping winning bid of $41,025,000 to earn the right to co-promote a Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte WBC heavyweight title fight along with Bob Arum's Top Rank Inc., handlers for the two British boxers were informed by the WBC that they have until the end of business February 21 to submit signed contracts. Warren's Queensberry Promotions and Top Rank tentatively have set aside April 23 as the date for Fury-Whyte and are considering several venues in the United Kingdom.

I’m guessing Whyte agrees to this life changing purse. However. If he declines for any reason, including even (God forbid) health crisis, F his 2x PED cheating, Povetkin victim ass

I think that's more than fair enough. He's been going on about his number 1 spot with the WBC for years, been complaining and campaigning for years to get his deserved shot. He's gone through the 25% and 20% offers and has ended up with a good deal which if he wins goes to over £11 million.

If he fkks it off now after all that he is going to become a massive joke within the sport and I think you will struggle to find many that will defend him for it.

Whyte has the opportunity of a lifetime. He had better take it, because he may never get this chance again.

If he lost badly and didn't want to fight anymore, he could retire and live quite nicely on this money. If he gives a valiant effort, he could get another big fight.

The WBC are desperate for Dillian to not fight the split. They're trying to force Dillian to sign before the abritration is complete.

Bob was worried about the arbitration too and in his recent interview alluded to offering more money.

A lot of panicked people. I sense the arbitration is leaning towards a closer split.

I want to see the fight right now, but I also want to see the WBC be screwed with their snivelling ways.

Keep fighting Dillian. As much as I love boxing, the bigger fight here is with the WBC, they are killing the sport and Dillian winning the abritration goes a huge way to at least make the dirty WBC think twice.

That's quite a lot of time to sign a standard contract...?

I imagine he takes it but I also wouldn't be surprised if he opts for the arbitration. I don't really care one way or the other.

I have no idea how the WBC rules governing these things are (not that it matters because sanctioning bodies only seem to follow their protocols when it's convenient), so I have no clue what would happen if it Whyte doesn't sign it.

Either way, fight. Don't fight. I'm bored of all this drama already.
