Is Canelo Alvarez the worst cherrypicker and ducker in boxing history?

I’ve noticed Canelo only fights either old fighters past their primes or a fighter coming off a terrible performance his last fight.

    just look at this:

Mosley (on a 3 loss streak before Canelo cherrypicked him)
GGG (waited till he was 35 and only when he went life and death with Jacobs that Canelo picked him)
Kovalev (old and washed who got ktfo a few fights earlier before Canelo cherrypicked him on a very short notice)
Callum Smith (looked terrible vs Ryder, Arguably lost)
Saunders (looked terrible vs Coceres, was losing on the cards before the KO)
    Plant (looked terrible vs Truax)

In short Canelo wants no part of a fighter who looked good in his recent fights and is not old or washed.

Don’t expect him to fight Beterbiev, Bivol, Joe Smith, Golovkin and Andrade anytime soon.

With Canelo’s trend of cherrypicking I’m pretty sure Charlo (looked terrible against Montiel would be on a 11 month layoff in May) or Makabu (looked horrible vs Mchunu, only won by robbery) is next on his cherry list.

Canelo had a helluva year in 2021 so I’m not going to complain about his first fight in 2022. Charlo’s no cakewalk though no matter how you slice it. That fight would be fireworks till the brutal end.

Jermall was landing really well on Montiel. Montiel just had a hell of a chin that night. I think most people saw that as not as Jermall being horrible but what the hell did Montiel do to become more resistant.

Also, I just saw Makabu vs Mchunu this morning and I don't think it was as big a robbery as some were making it out to be. The announcers were trash also so I can see why a lot of morons were thinking Mchunu was winning. The fight was close and I could see it landing at a draw or either one slightly edging over the other. Not the most thrill fight though. I feel Makabu should have kept going to the body. He was doing so well to the body for the first half.

As for the super middle weight division, sure some of the fights before their respective Canelo fights may not have been their best performances, but they were all bigger and stronger undefeated championship who brought their best to Canelo and fell short. Canelo's game plan and performances were just better.

GGG is older but has always had low mileage with all his easy fights. He still looks good even today so him being 35 didn't have much weight to it.

Kov was just for vanity, still an interesting fight to see how Canelo would fair jumping two weight classes and fighting a legitimate champ and legend in the LHW division.

No matter what all of Canelo's fights have brought some sort of entertainment and that's what matters. He's clearly not done yet. Also as soon as he fights any of those guys you siad he won't fight you're obviously going to find a way to call them cherry picks as well. Well if not you then someone haha.

I'm a little pissy because I wanna see if Benavidez is the guy to push Canelo. Nobody really has since GGG and I honestly think Benavidez can do it. I dont know that he beats Canelo but I believe that's a good fight. I wont be upset to see Canelo vs Charlo I just think either fight Benavidez or go to 175 and fight Bivol, Beterbiev or Joe Smith Jr

Yeah, that's not how it works. He's been consistently fighting since he was an early teenager. Add in the hundreds of amateur fights, thousands of rounds of sparring, thousands of miles running, all the training, punches thrown (and absorbed), muscle wear and tear, cutting weight etc. Why the **** do you guys think that fighters can just keep performing at the highest level, regardless of their age, just because they haven't had the toughest professional career? Golovkin at 35+ isn't the same fighter, physically, that he was in his early 30's. Not hard to notice that. And that goes for damn near every fighter, with the exception of very few.

Canelo is still in his prime. A little premature to say whether or not he goes down as a career level cherry picker like Floyd. I don't think anyone will surpass Floyd as the worst cherry picker of all time. But we can say that Canelo certainly learned a lot from his fight with Floyd, in and out of the ring.

Kovalev was old and washed? Thats an exaggeration.
GGG was undefeated, could crack top 10 all time at mw, and Canelo beat a damn good version of him. The first fight was controversial but he gets full credit for beating the brakes off GGG in the rematch. He didn't take a century to fight him either like the 8 years Floyd was running from Manny.

Any boxer will tell you that their career is cut shorter when they take more damage. GGG doesn't take damage in his easy ass fights.
