Lol! I got to watch this… Sounds like early Deontay Wilder fights in school gym double billing with a local wrestling event…

I didn't see the fight, shall have to have a look. Already seems like they robbed Mchunu, as I predicted they would.

Breadman, Doug Fischer all saying that the judges know who the A Side is so they show unconscious bias. This is disingenuous, I mean it could happen but there is that old adage - always follow the money trail.

It is just so easy to bribe judges. Set up a family holiday in Dominican republic in a 5 star resort in someone else's name. Better still buy a condo in same place in someone else's name (Panama company) and give free use to a judge and anyone he names - he can make money on rentals. Who would ever know? Nobody until someone shines a torch and starts digging - but nobody is doing this.

Saw this coming all the way. Don King + Warren + Canelo = Mchunu aint winning except by KO.

Nearly used my x5 on Mchunu tonight, thankfully I put 2 + 2 together in the sense of Don King + Potential Canelo payday could likely result in a robbery.
Yeah, you should do it. It was a good thread despite that it didn't get all that much traffic.

And more fool me I guess... I did use my x5 because I was absolutely confident in Thabisos ability to outbox Junior despite knowing there was a good possibility of dicey scoring. Probably should have erred on the side of caution with the x5 though in the circumstances.

Oh well, gonna claim a moral victory at least... which nets me a grand total of nil points..

So based on this crap performance, history tells us he’s likely the front runner for 5 de Mayo weekend.

He's a southpaw defensive counterpuncher, unusually slick for a guy at this weight. Floyd Mayweather he ain't but he did what he does effectively and made Makabu - who's actually not terrible at all -look far more ponderous and inept than usual, although the flaws were always there to exploit.

Point is in terms of a Canelo fight - which is what this was really all about - Mchunu would be a much trickier and less predictable opponent. Honestly I'd still pick Canelo to win which is high praise given Thabisos natural weight advantage and the regard I hold him in but likely the ginger one would catch a few counterpunches coming in and it would end in a messy decison with Canelo getting every benefit from the judges.

In short I think Canelo could beat Thabiso but wouldn't look good doing it whereas he could look very good indeed beating Makabu... and no I ain't one of those calling that a crap fight either. Makabu may be second tier compared to the likes of a Dorticos or a Breidis but he's still absolutely a legit top 5 - 10 cruiser.

Boxing Scene you actually reviewed the fight from round 1 to round 12. GOOD JOB !!!!!!!! none of that coverage from round 12 down to round 1. I did not have to read backwards. Keep this going the right way.
