You described the situation as Joshua insisting on (mandating) a rematch clause.
That's not true. It was a mandatory fight. Joshua couldn't enforce a rematch clause.
In a mandatory fight it's the challenger who sells his right to walk away after a win. Usyk did that.

Anyone believe this ****? Not very convincing.....I don't get what's funny because nothing has changed, AJ still has to rematch Usyk and Fury still has to fight Whyte even though this nonsense from both sides has now delayed all that. Not sure what's funny to Fury's camp, nothing has been achieved except for more delays.
You didn't get what you want. You could be a bit embarrassed that you didn't get what you want.
So you act like it was everyone else who looks ******. In the hope that people will ignore facts and believe your rubbish.
I vaguely remember it in the playground. But Fury's a grown man!Comment

Semantics? What semantics? I didn't point out a typo.

Even now you're going to sit there and pretend as if Hearn clearly shopping Joshua's step aside somehow makes Fury look worse...even though Fury seems to be the one whose fight actually moved forward and the so called rematch, which was meant to take place in March, pretty much has had no announcement and its now pretty much February.
You talk in these ridiculous riddles, just like Joshua funnily enough, because like him you're full of it. You won't sit there and address my point about Joshua shopping his rematch clause because you likely know you're full of it too.Last edited by KingGilgamesh; 01-28-2022, 09:11 AM.Comment

This is whats sad about Joshua's fans, you defend his horse**** to the point you embarrass yourselves. What now? We pretend as rematch clauses during mandatory challenges is a common occurence? Are we now going to pretend that Hearn offering it as a negotiation strategy says more about Usyk than it does about Hearn and Joshua's confidence in victory?

For this 4 way deal, how has Joshua lost out? He's fighting the fight he has contracted.
It seems like Whyte will get the fight he wanted. Albeit at a lower purse than he wanted but there's still some games to play there.
It's Fury who isn't getting what he wanted. Never wanted Whyte, then wanted Usyk, then wanted an interim fight before Usyk while everyone else stands around, then was prepared to fight Whyte before Usyk with a promise of Joshua down the line.
He's made all the running, and has been left with the fight he didn't want in the first place. And it didn't move forward. It quite literally got delayed.
Purse bids in 4 hours. Let's see what happens!Last edited by Toffee; 01-28-2022, 09:16 AM.Comment

AJ could have just rematched Usyk by now and it would have been much faster.
i mean *** they fought in september and now its 4 months later and no fight has been made for AJ, Usyk or Fury
The rematch could be coming up in march and that would have still given them the standard 6 months between fights.Comment

It's the classic moron's response.

18 months ago the heavyweight landscape was pretty clear.
You know what I don't get... AJ Wilder (IN MY OPINION) outsells any Fury/ Whyte/ Usyk scrap. Why don't AJ and Wilder put a fight together and make champion bank? Wilder hasn't lost too much cred after his trilogy everyone knows he's a warrior now with a big heart and big Josh could use some kudos for taking a dangerous fight without a title on the line. Whilst making tens of millions of dollars each? For me it's a no brainer would love to know what everyone else thinks.Comment

Because it is quite obvious at this point that Joshua has no intention of fighting Usyk anytime soon. And it's like anyone is paying him a step aside either. I feel a lack of a rematch clause would have allowed him to easily walk away abs build up his confidence and resume fighting the many up and comers on the heavyweight scene. Another emphatic loss to Usyk will have fundamental damage to his credibility and bargaining power. Especially if he loses in a similar fashion to how he lost in September.Comment
