  • Comments Thread For: Gassiev, Andy Ruiz Contacted By IBF To Accept Invitation To Face Hrgovic In Title Eliminator

The IBF has doubled its pleasure in hopes of moving forward with a heavyweight fight to determine its next mandatory challenger. BoxingScene.com has learned that Murat Gassiev and Andy Ruiz Jr. were both offered an invitation by the New Jersey-based sanctioning body to enter talks for a final title eliminator with unbeaten Filip Hrgovic. The pair of former unified titlists--Ruiz (34-2, 22KOs) at heavyweight and Gassiev (28-1, 21KOs) at cruiserweight before moving up--have until Friday evening to accept, with the highest-ranked available contender moving forward to a forthcoming negotiation period with Gassiev.

Hrgovic-Gassiev would be a good fight with a lot of power shots flying.

Gassiev is injured. Ruiz will pass and make money against someone with a name.

Gassiev should jump on this but if he's injured then so much for that.

Andy Ruiz for sure can make much better money elsewhere.

Andy isn't chasing fame or belts, he's an entertainer chasing cash like Jake Paul and only interested in the easiest opponents with a name. At best, if the money is right, Andy may rematch with Parker but that's about it.

That means Joyce and Kabayel passed. Joyce fair enough because of the WBO situation. Ruiz will never get another chance and has the attributes to cause Hrgovic a problem.

Andy can get paid much, much more than the peanuts that Hrgovic's team will be offering.

                  That's just reality.

Notice even Fury calling everyone out not named Hrgovic who is ranked over Helenius in the WBC . I believe Hrgovic would beat up Fury it’s to hard a fight for him if Whyte is .
