Morales' has said ¨we already had our era (refering to himself, Barrera and Marquez). This is Canelo's¨ -- and he's 100% right

I do not recall, in my lifetime, a decade that did not have at least 1 fighter who was (mostly) so dominant over top 10 fighters, that some fans/journalists saw it as a “flaw” in their career.
Wlad, Mayweather, Jones Jr, in their prime, were the leaders of their decade and all 3 had their resumes questioned by fans/media, even though no one else was wiping out top 10 fighters with relative ease like them. No one.
Nobody could do what Roy Jones was doing to top 10 fighters. Like he said himself: “I just make them look like nobody.”
Leading up to the John Ruiz fight, which RJJ’s haters refuse to acknowledge as a great win, there wasn’t even one heavyweight that made Ruiz look that bad other than David Tua. Most heavyweights were very frustrated at John Ruiz’ unpleasant style.
No one could replicate how good Mayweather looked vs Canelo, Corrales, JMM (not even welterweights). There is no fighter on Earth, who beat a Ring #1 ranked champion so badly (Gatti), that lead to an actual phrase to indicate someone getting badly beaten.
Canelo has joined that group. I am 1,000% sure that no matter what, he will never satisfy his haters. He likely needs to go to HW to fight Usyk to even remotely satisfy his critics for like maybe a week post-fight.Comment

I have to agree with the guy, his fights are not of the type you will be going back to and re-watching due to the raw excitement of the fights he has had. You can respect a guys accomplishments, and still find the fights to not be that impressive on another level. Some people find that hard to follow I don't. That is that both facts can exist but they can and they do. And it is not disrespectful towards the fighter.Comment

Nacho sharing a point of view as a real Mexican OG who’s been in the sport for decades and knows what he’s talking about ……and then you have these gringo Mexican American posers whose only boxing experience is creating their boxingscene accounts trying to diminish what he has to say. Clowns.Comment

Canelo has nothing to worry about here.Comment

Canelo passed Chavez long ago, yeah he went 89-0 against elote cart pushers, cab drivers, goat farmers before getting smacked by a cross dresser and quitting twice.Canelo only lost once against TBE and has been undefeated since. Benevidez and Charlo have done nothing to deserve a Canelo fight they dont have any fights with Plant,BJS,Callum Smith or any guys like this.Comment

Thank you Nacho Bernstein. It's quite simple actually. What he Is saying is essentially what Teddy Atlas has been stating for some time now.
Canelo is fighting setup fight s. Yes they're title holders but in this day and age with such ac proliferation of title belts, D level fighters can be champions and milk those belts for years as did Saunders, Smith and Plant. Neither of these men attempted to unify, nor once and their resumes are light in terms if quality. They were tailor made for a Canelo and fit the script perfectly just like an aging Golovkin and a very old and washed up Kovalev did. Not to mention the hapless Yilkin, Inactive and mediocre Julio Caesar ChavezJr, tje former 140 pounder " Amir (China chin) Khan,Rocky Fielding ?and the inactive Saunders, Plant and Smith, all three Euro belt holders with zero punching power, quality defenses and durability. Canelo looks like a world beater fighting these types of fighters because they can't expose flaws that he STILL has in his game. Andrade a former Olympian and undefeated champion will not be on the invite card but the hapless opponents he's fought recently do?? Then there is Charlo who would most definitely rise to the occasion should they fight given the stakes. Teddy Atlas is right. All of these fights Canelo has had are foregone conclusions that all but guarantee him a victory. People outside of his adoring fanbase want to see a QUALITY opponent where the odds are serious enough to indicate that Canelo could actually lose. That's what makes bouts intriguing and get the fans out to ringside. Not obvious setup bouts where the outcome is all but guaranteed.
Nacho and Atlas are spot on in their respective assessments and I suspect they aren't the only ones in the boxing fraternity who feel this way.Comment

I agree with him 100%. The last tough fight he had was GGG,but even then, he waited until GGG was nearly 36 whilst he was 27...
Beterbiev THIS YEAR would be one of those fights, but he wants to steal a belt off an absolute nobody at cruiser.Comment

Shame he feels that way Nelo making history and he can't show love. Just sit back and enjoy the ride Nacho!Comment
