      I get it.

The same goes for an extremely positive person who posts on social media for their daily dose of "support." All of it is an illusion but it makes us feel things (good and bad), which is also an illusion if you entertain the "support"...good, bad and indifferent. Being overly "positive" leaves you in a tough spot as well....because people are waiting for your slip to show. It's the nature of the ego, sadly.

You ever wonder how these guys can get overwhelming support but the FEW negative comments can grow and send people into a mad house. Why? Because they're depending on outer validation. We've all been through it but I'm sure it hasn't made us much money on social media compared to public figures.

You're right, GBP didn't do any of this to cause Ryan to see things this way; however, it can become a problem for them if they don't involve themselves. Effectively, of course. He's not the only one dealing with this, so we're ALL in the classroom right now...that includes GBP. Ryan is their investment that they must make a return on. Speaking on mental illness is one thing but, if it stops those attached to you from making a living, some "not-so-understanding" conversations need to take place. Most would call it "straight talk."
Great post! Sometimes I can't believe what I'm seeing, but I'm seeing multiple friends and family members suffering from this need of validation from social media! I find it very bizarre behavior, especially for people over 40!

I'm just not sold on his explanation. How does he walk into a gym and just immediately flip a switch where he's bawling his eyes out? For what reason exactly? Either he's leaving that extremely important detail out, or this a fake story to save face.

Anyone check his cycles? Did he have to go with a particular anti-drug agency for the Fortuna fight? Just curious...
Since when do you need a reason for the way that you feel? Sometimes you just feel a certain way because you feel a certain way. Some people just have a depressive personality, and sometimes, people might have a hard time controlling their emotions or explaining their emotions. Not saying this is him, but an extreme example of this would be bipolar disorder.

I see nothing in what he said that suggests he’s leaving something out or that this is a fake story. It would be pretty easy to tell if it’s fake. Just interview someone who goes to that gym and saw him on that day in question.
        Fact Fact likes this.

So true. Social media can be a headache...even for those who know how to put the phones away and live life. It's easier said than done but social media isn't real. At all. Our thoughts aren't even real, yet, we entertain them and NOBODY can "see" what you're thinking.

Ryan's gotta understand he has a job to do and not much sympathy is gonna come from fans who pay to watch. After a while, his mental health issues are gonna "get in the way" of what "fans" want, and that's going to be a big business issue with him.

Thoughts are ugly, bro. I mean, you can sit right here and imagine somebody you care about passing away. NONE of it has to be real but your thoughts will have you sad, crying, overthinking it, etc when you can simply pick up the phone and see the other person is alive. Again, if this very example can happen so easily, then imagine what other mess is going on people's minds. The brain is something special when it's not working against you.

"Ryan Garcia's biggest win of his life may have been the one he earned from outside the confines of a boxing ring."

              GTFO that phagggot sht

Honestly depression is bad but so many people deal with it. I promise you with Ryan it's the attention he gets that will make it so much worse. For him the best thing to do is just live a simple, clean life with minimal distractions and amusements and just buckle down to his training regimen. Don't bother with shrinks that whole thing is a dead letter. Go to church, pray, live a simple life, that's enough. Don't indulge on worthless fads like "modern psychology" which has solved exactly zero problems.

I can imagine that the guy has a tremendous amount of pressure on him , pressure to win, to always say the right thing , to live up to his potential, etc. At least he's smart enough to realize that he needed a break.
If I was in his position at that age, I know I'd get in trouble. They'd be catching me in a bed full of hot young chicks, getting a bunch of them pregnant, using drugs, etc. I can't lie. I wasn't even rich and famous, just good looking and I was doing all of that....hahaha. Lucky that I shoot blanks though.

Don't compare Simone to Ryan. Simone has been at the top of her sport for years. 5 world championships and has 4 Olympic gold medals.
