I totally agree. It's what irritates me about the sport. Not just the division. Everyone claims to be great but only want to face individuals who they know don't belong in the ring with them. And they love to claim that they are being avoided just because the "money fighters" don't break their neck to get in the ring with them.

Boots is also great at making adjustments, plus he's more athletic faster, better switch-hitter, better defense, jab, better at fighting in the pocket, plus he matches Crawford in timing and counterpunching. Only edge Crawford has is experience.Comment

I like Jaron but all I hear is that he'll beat Spence, Crawford, Porter, Garcia, Thurman, etc when he hasn't FOUGHT ANYONE to prove otherwise.
Jaron passes the eyeball test and he'll always look like a superstar when fighting the Sergiy Lipinets of the world but at least fight tier two 147 lbers in the ilk of a Thurman, Porter, Garcia before we state that he can beat Crawford or Spence (I think they BOTH beat Ennis btw).Comment

He’s his business partner, I expect nothing less than him saying what he said, but don’t be like an up and coming Tommy Ayer’s, back in the day when everyone thought the same thing and he was put in with an experienced Marlon Starling and trash! Sometimes it’s best to let them become a bit seasoned before jumping the gun, because we still don’t know what he can take; and with Crawford or Spence he’s going to be challenged.Comment

Ennis has been frozen out somewhat for the last 18 months - it's not fair to criticise him for not having fought other fighters if they won't give him a shot, and being in the sport's marquee division really hurts w/r/t forcing his way in via sanctioning bodies, because there's always been too much money on the table (from Pacquiao $$$, unifications, rematches etc) for the sanctioning bodies NOT to be incentivised to freeze him out.
As for a possible matchup with Crawford or Spence, he certainly passes the eye test, and though I disagree with the other Breadman on a very few things, Edwards really, really knows his stuff, and his detailed descriptions of Ennis' game make me think he's a very, very live dog - if he's got even half of Crawford's composure and strength of character he's favourite in my book, because I'm not sure there's been a prospect with this much raw athleticism in as many different fields at 147 since SRL.Comment

Jaron Ennis is only relevant because he and his camp keeps mentioning Crawford and Spence.......period. He has fought NO ONE. His best wins are vs 2 light welterweights who were trying to test the waters by moving up. You can't admit that he is a BIG WELTERWEIGHT but then give him ultimate props for beating someone who isn't even big enough to compete as a welterweight.
People always knock Crawford for his resume and if they attempt to give any kudos, they mention just a couple names......Dulorme has never came up. Crawford stopped Dulorme 5 years ago. Since then Dulorme has lost 5 of his 8 bouts. Ennis is getting ultimate praise for stopping Dulorme who is a shell of himself from when he fought Crawford and he's fighting in a higher division. Ennis didn't do nothing to him this year that Spence and Crawford can't do to him today.
Ennis needs to face an actual ranked welterweight. Stop the bull**** that he is being avoided.... He's trying to get title shots without participating in a bout that puts him in the position to get that fight. There are 4/5 contenders in his same position that are trying to get the same thing, but they are fighting ranked opponents to show that they deserve a shot. He's fighting 140 pounders.Comment

I'd give Spence a better shot against boots than bud for one specific reason. Spence is an old school fighter. He can grind and switch up his style to get the job done. With Boots speed and athleticism, you better be able to cover up, work the body and switch your work rate a lot. You can't wait for boots to give you openings. He will pick you apart. You have to do what Duran did to SRL. Go at him in a measured but consistent pace. No time to rest and smother all those explosive combinations. Keep touching him and backing him up. Tie him up, fight out of the clinch (Mayweather vs Cotto style) and try to rough him up.
That's not Bud. Bud is a technician with a real mean streak. He is Lazer accurate and real sneaky with his counters. But he has that mean streak which is a real detriment when you're fighting a guy that looks a lot like Roy Jones when he has it all working. Getting into exchanges and being determined to counter punch and go to war with a young lion is a good way to get clipped. Boots counters will be a little bit faster than buds and his size and power must be respected. Bud will need to temper that mean streak and just box at times. If he uses his footwork and stays focused on his defense he could get it done. But that's not crawford. He wants to kill his prey instead of stalking it and being patient. He also can't start slow. You give that young man some confidence and it's a wrap.Comment

He's not avoided....Try again. Do you have trouble reading or is comprehension what you are struggling with? I've addressed this already.
Boots has beaten NO ONE. You can not use victories over Lipinets and Dulorme.....two 140 lb contenders......as proof that you deserve a championship bout. Boots has fought ZERO ranked welterweights during his pro career. He has Butaev, Stanionis, Ortiz, Benn, Avanesyan, Crowley, McKinsen, & a couple others whom are all in the same position. All are top contenders wanting a title shot. Why hasn't Boots attempted to beat one of them to prove he's the best of the contenders........
He's making $400K/purse.......He's not going to get the champs to budge because he's a nonfactor to their legacy. He has no title, no a money fighter, and isn't a huge draw....Stop the dumb **** that he's feared. He's as dangerous as every other world class fighter who is hungry for a title. Stanionis and Ortiz have verbally said out loud that they are willing to entertain a bout vs Boots......yet, Boots thinks he can skip all the steps of competition and just fight the elite.Comment
