I'd pick Santa Cruz in this one, but the Filipino is a junior welter. Maybe Davis can slap him around for a few rounds.

When it comes to excuses, I give no credit at all. I don't care if his arm is falling off. It's the nature of the fighting game. Gary Russell looked like a C- tonight. Hopefully he never comes back.

Kinda my thoughts. It's not that he's bad at all or anything it's just there's absolutely nothing exceptional about him. He looks big at the weight and can **** a bit but neither his performance against Ceja nor against One Arm Gary give me much reason to think he's gonna last long at the top.

However this does open the door for a load of good action title match-ups at 126... Navarette, Dogboe, Vargas, Lara, Kiko... all of em pretty much guaranteed to deliver on the entertainment stakes.

Magsayo did enough to win. And he clearly won. That's what matters.

Dumbass Russell had two years to get that shoulder fixed. He didn't. Not Magsayo's fault that Russell is a dumbass.

thought they both looked like sh&& to be honest. I did like the body work of the Filipino but he dives in way to often for my liking. he looked big as fk also, what did he weigh on fight night?

Agreed. I wasn't impressed with Magsayo. Russell looked rusty, old and obviously injured. I'm guessing his arrogance made him think he could beat the Filipino fighter one handed. He was wrong.

As for Magsayo, it was impressive that he could continuously walk into the one punch Russell was able to throw. He won, but considering the circumstances, he really should have done more.
