UFC champions are locked into their contracts forever unless they lose a fight so if Ngannou wants out of his contract how motivated is he to keep winning.

He only has one more fight on his contract after that he doesn't have to resign if worst comes to worst he still has a name so even if he opted out for a bit he could always return later or fight for other MMA organizations and probably make just as much money plus more because they allow sponsors. So if he really wants to do boxing it's possible and Heavyweight division is one of those divisions where you might not need to be the most technical if you can punch and are somewhat athletic depending on how you can take a punch you can have success. I don't think Ngannou punches harder than Wilder and I don't think he has a better jab either Fury would probably TKO him due to him gassing in less than 10.

Ngannou is a tough guy in mma, but in boxing, Fury would demolish him.

I'm not sure he's going to beat Cyril Gane in the UFC, that guy has more skill than Francis, while the latter has more punching power.

But it actually sounded like you're under the belief that it's relatively easy to work up to a title shot in boxing's flagship division, by stating that the "Heavyweight division is one of those divisions where you might not need to be the most technical if you can punch and are somewhat athletic depending on how you can take a punch you can have success". That's an unusual perspective to be sure, considering that a popular Heavyweight champ making multiple defenses and cleaning out the class is a billion dollar athlete . If it were that simple to make it in boxing, nobody on earth would we wasting their time fighting in the UFC for comparative peanuts . Don't take my word for it though, just ask Ngannou!!!

You are putting words in my mouth what I'm saying is that if you have a decent punch and can take a punch you can still make some noise in the heavyweight division without having the most technical skills. Where did you get working up to a title shot from having success? Didn't Joshua and Wilder both start boxing late? Didn't they both become WORLD champions? Ngannou is an athlete has shown to take a good punch and can give a good one as well. Never in the world did I say he would beat any of the top heavyweights you are just assuming things, but if Dillian Whyte and Jarrell Miller can transition from kickboxing to boxing and have decent careers why couldn't another combat sport athlete do the same?

Obviously Fury is the champion so it could possibly be a title fight if it get's sanctioned but that's just marketing wouldn't have been a "work up" like you stated just another crossover bout and I clearly stated that I think Fury would win easily.

Ngannou, like his predecessor Stipe Miocic, is a converted boxer with a very boxing-centric style, and as a superb combat athlete who already devotes a great deal of energy training boxing, there's no reason to think that he couldn't make a successful heavyweight boxer, especially after concentrating his focus for awile. And the concept being floated is indeed a title shot at the champion under MOQ rules. Would he waltz into boxing's top 10 and win the way old Ray Mercer walzed into MMA and smoked the then #7 ranked x2 UFC champion? Strange things can happen.
