He's in an awkward position of being too big for 140, but not strong enough for big 147 pounders. Benns not a big 147 though, so I think Hooker is an excellent test at this point in my opinion. You make good points pal.
As do you my friend, not just on this thread but throughout the various NSB topics.

I think he'd get found out certainly against a top 5 guy maybe even a genuine top 10 now but his rate of improvement is exceptional. Why throw him to the wolves no when most of the others weren't in the same position?
            Yes, fair points, thanks.

              True

Also people love to criticise him but big up Boots Ennis. What has boots done? - In his 14th pro fight, he was still fighting a guy that was 3-19, no joke. Benn would’ve been crucified for that. Ennis also just fought a guy coming off back to back losses v D level opponents. Again, Benn would be crucified for that.

I think Benn is doing okay and right where he should be. no need to throw him right in the deep end when others and being held to that same standard, as you said.

Hearn doesn’t help the cause though sometimes, maybe Benn himself too. He says “Next will definitely be a top 15 in the world” then he picks Chris Algieri, Which might have been true in 2014. I think if they were just straight up about where he is and the level of opponents they want him to fight instead of bringing up names like Shawn Porter and saying things about fighting genuine top 15 guys, I think people would be fine with it.
