It's just so de****able, how you can talk **** about someone like Joe Smith who is classy, never talks trash, shows a ton of heart in the ring, always fights the best opponents, isn't afraid of a loss, it really is revealing about what kind of person you are. And the crazy part is they're talking trash about him for wanting 2 of the most dangerous opponents in boxing. These fans are truly awful.

Even though I have my su****ions why Canelo's hardcore fans don't like Andrade and Charlo, I can get how their trash talking and not making great fights happen apart from Canelo rub people the wrong way. But now the same people are criticizing Joe Smith who talks no trash and is looking for the best fights possible. Your true character is showing.Comment

Smith is playing chess while a lot of you are trying to spell “checkers.” This is an obvious negotiating ploy by Smith: he knows full well Canelo would rather fight him over Beterbiev (still too dangerous) or Bicol (slick, boring fighter who won’t create any buzz). He’s just trying to force Canelo’s hand to cough up more money .Comment

Absolutely zero issue with Joe wanting to this - that's who his targets should be. We've had 5 or 6 years across multiple divisions with everything grinding to a halt every time Canelo mentions he might be thinking about a fight there. Dudes need to just get on with it and fight the guys in front of em.
That said Bivol will shut Joe out again and Beterbiev will stop him.... Like pretty much everyone else here I'm a fan of Smithy's but I honestly don't think he's got much of a shot here and further a loss to either would probably close the Ginger pursestrings for good. Pains me to say but if I was managing Joe I'd probably tell him to try to make the Canelo fight.
Strikes me the poster who suggested this was a bargaining ploy could possibly onto something though.Comment
