well when you can't create distance between yourself and ruiz, valuev, or drummond you aren't very good cause those 3 guys are sub par. ruiz is an ancient relic left over from the 90's and the fact that he is still competing with the top guys now is a testament to the crappy heavyweight division.

Dominic Guinn's bigger than Klitchko and Toney went toe-to-toe with him and looked great. Rahman, Mason, Peter and Ruiz are BIG Heavyweights and Toney fought them the same way he's been doing it for 20 years. James never looked getting remotely hurt against them.

Damn I wish Toney came in shape against Rahman in their first fight cos he lost that fight on his own accord during the last 3 rounds. Toney would have stopped Rahman inside 5 in 2006 had he been in the shape he was when he demolished Holyfield.

Love him or hate him, majority of fight fans wanna see Toney go out in a blaze of glory and win the Heavyweight Title after campaigning from 157lbs all the way up to Heavyweight and beating the best fighters out there. James will do a Jersey Joe Walcott and become a Heavyweight Champion.

Come on Klitchko brothers, 'Sign' the contract! Give the fight fans what they want.

I agree on some points BUT!!!... As our comrad Dave Rado has mentioned Toney is rated number "none" in any organisation... If he gets in top 15 of IBF or WBO Klitschko might accept him as an opponent for a voluntary defence! BUT! Wladimir has to face Chambers, Povetkin, Haye/Valuev and has a low probability to fight Arreola (in case of upset n 26th of September)... With all respect to Toney (whom i consider an ATG boxer) if he wants to fight for a title he has to earn that position... Though they like to say that HW stinks, Klitschko has couple of good fights in his nearest future!

Why don't you want Toney to fight and convincingly beat a credible top 10 opponent first? Is it because you suspect he doesn't have it in him any more?

In his last fight he beat someone that he shouldn't even have been fighting, his opponent was so bad: and in his previous fight, against someone who isn't even in anyone's top 20, his opponent was robbed. Prior to that, he was outboxed by Peter.

You're being completely delusional asking for any title holder to throw their credibility in the bin by taking on an opponent who refuses to fight anyone with a pulse, and who hasn't looked good against a live opponent for several years.

Agreed. Good post. James is my favorite fighter all-time, but he should beat another top 10-15 HW or two before getting a title shot. That is, if he's serious about it.

I am about to destroy this guy and he should change his name because this is going to be embarassing.

Have you ever seen the Puritty fight? I know you havent because Wlad had not lost a round until the 10th. So to say "easy" you are clearly wrong.

Also, you might ask how an athlete such as Wlad could run out of gas. Good question. Wlad had fought 2 weeks before. Wlad was fighting his 4th fight in 75 days. Wlad was fighting his 12th fight in a year. He was exhausted from such a grueling training and fighting schedule. Purrity was a bum, but was a hard to KO bum. Big punchers couldnt ko him and Purrity was KO'ed once after 1990 and that was by Vitali in 2001. Klitschko hadn't prepared for him, just for boxing and his manager chose the wrong type of fighter. Should be noted Eddie Chambers couldnt KO a 40 year old Ross Puritty.

Try to educate yourself before posting. Wlad was mismanaged in the Puritty fight. Shouldn't have been in there. Guy has been knocked out once since 1990 and his trainer and manager should have prepped Wlad for a 12 round fight. Or scheduled it for 10 rounds...which if it was...Wlad would have won easily.

If Wlad fought Toney before Povetkin or Chambers people would bash Wlad nonstop. If Toney wants to earn his spot see if he can work something quick out with one of these two.
