Are past wws overrated? Or do they expose how unbalanced, devoid of big fights ww boxing has become?

Tito beat Sweat Pea,Oba Carr knocked down prime Tito early,while Quartey was imho robbed v DLH,DLH has an argument that he beat Tito(even though I disagree strongly),& was in very close fight v Floyd. You had guys like Randall who beat JCC albeit a old JCC. You had Sweat Pea who never officially beat anyone elite at ww,Mcgirt was his best win,yet hes an ATG(JCC aside)

It just amazes me to think how stacked ww used to be,& how much everyone fought each other back then,with all kinds of triangle theories becoming worthless regularly.

So my question is, imagine Spence,Ugas,Bud,Ortiz,Boots were around back then, would any of them even be champs,or would the likes of Oba Carr,Sweat Pea,& Quartey have beat them?

Just writing this makes me sick to my stomach that the wws of today don't fight each other & guys like Bud had to be forced into fighting Porter at the end of boths prime.

Would todays fighters be called bums if they had losses like Whitaker, robberies like DLH v Quartey,KD in 2nd rd like prime Tito v Carr?

I've often brought up Oba Carr on this site.Oba Carr was just in the wrong era. Very good fight who dropped top fighters, but never won the big fights against the top guys. I honestly don't think Bud or Spence beats Carr. I KNOW for a fact they don't beat Sweet Peat at 147 (not the old guy that Tito beat). And we can go back to the 80s. Guys like Starlon and Curry, I can't see these cherry picking mfers today dominating these guys. ****, Simon Brown would probably stop both spence and Bud. I'm not romanticizing the past, I just never saw what was so special about Spence or Crawford at 147. Crawford was struggling with Porter before he caught him, how do you think he deals with Quartey or Sweet Pea?

You idiot, I’m no Crawford fan. I realize now from your original post and your attack on me that facts just aren’t your thing. Carr never fought, let alone beat, Sweet Pea and you’ll never find a post with me singing Crawford’s praises. Aren’t you the idiot who swore Pac deserved the decision vs Ugas?
