I think many if not everyone would be surprised if they had guys they call slow on the tube swinging on them . Most perceived slow guys aren’t actually slow or as slow as they might look on t.v . ,I think watching fights in person are perceived to be faster as you are watching in real-time . Pro boxers are training reflexes all the time what may look slow to untrained people wouldn’t actually be able to evade a boxers punch let a.one multiple ones .

It is not something I have considered.

I'd say that watching things ring side, you a greater appreciation for positioning and how heavy some of the punches are.

Watching things on TV, you don't get an appreciation for the impact of punches unless they land clearly.

Due to the focus of the the camera, you don't get the same sense of where the fighters are in the ring, what they're doing to try and control the centre of it etc.

Yeah you quickly realize jabs hurt

after seeing someone eat 3 jabs in a row to the face

              Depends on the stream.

I've used some proper dodgy streams where they look choppy as hell. Like one of those oldschool CCTV cameras where the footage looks like a flipbook

Then i noticed I was watching Joe Joyce and it was on television.

Yeah idk if frames per second has any impact on how fast they look

I watched Tank vs Barrios ringside. They're definitely faster in person especially with their reflexes and timing.

In person. My old boxing gym used to tape sparring sessions for the decent/good fighters and we would rewatch them. Looked slower on video, in comparison to live

It's even faster when you're actually the one fighting. We had slow fighters that looked slow on video and in person, but would still land some stuff when we sparred. I'd wondered how they landed once I rewatched the video, given the speed I saw on video
