Nash was saying to himself this morning that more people need to put some respect on the Canelo name. He is elite. Elite boxers shine in any era. Nash out.
How Great Is Alvarez

Name me any active fighter and I can do exactly what you just did. It’s easy.
I'm a realist.
Yeah and he didn't even beat GGG not to mention get caught with PEDs.
He's great in a very average division with 10 titles per division, with great marketing power, which makes it easy to appear as great.
He's definitely a great fighter.
I always answer myself with a fighter is as great as their opponents and circumstances at the time...
Caleb Plant - good win
Callum Smith - what was his best win?
BJS - won a vacant title against an unknown guy
Yildirim - Got KTFO by Saunders, somehow was mandatory after a loss
Kovalev - great cherry pick
Jacobs- good win
GgG 2 - lost close fight, suspended for PEDs
GgG - lost convincingly
Rocky Fielding- who?
Liam Smith - who?
Amir Khan - lol
Give me a name.Comment

If he becomes undisputed in a second weight class at 175lbs? I think it’ll be low balling him.
Other guys are in the top 20 just because they fought in the old days, having their fights in black and white footage, all while piling up losses and questionable fighters on their resume.Comment

To me, he hasn't proven that he is an all time great yet, he's fought very weak opposition his entire career and the one time he fought a true all time great, canelo was truly out of his league.Comment

Here's a question - when people watch Canelo Alvarez fight, what do they really see that makes you think he's great? He has great hand speed, head movement and accuracy, but this is also because he carefully selects opponents, many caucasian, who he knows he will have a speed advantage over. He never has shown good stamina or any ability to throw a lot of punches and fight in the pocket for a full 12 by 3 minute rounds. Power is good, not great. And even with all of these advantages, he loses many many rounds in most of his fights, gets outboxed often, and has to rely on his power to bail them out. Floyd, Manny, Klitschko, Ward were all time greats we saw in the last 10 years, Floyd especially this would hardly ever happen to. Most of their fights they'd dominate each and every round where Alvarez you see getting outboxed all the time by fighters who just aren't even that good like Plant, BJS, washed up Kovalev, Jacobs.Comment

Alvarez career would be very different in an era with a strong 160 & 168 divisionComment

That's what I'm saying and even in a weak 160 and 168lb divisions, his performances don't WOW you the way Floyd did, the way Ward did, even the way guys like Roman Gonzalez do today.Comment
