Get over Benn you're hanging off his sack big time if his promoter is saying he's ready for a title shot soon why is he taking a step backwards?
Let's just wait and see. I hate when you long-time boxing "fans" do the same ****** ****....you BEG and CRY for this fight and that fight when you KNOW these fights take time. You do this every time then cry "ducking" and so on when the fight doesn't happen. Boxing just doesn't need that energy anymore.

As I stated in one of my earlier responses....a Guerrero and/or Broner fight would be good for Benn's career mainly because he's still fighting more than twice per year. As most know, when guys build their names and resumes, they tend to fight 1-2 times per year. Conor's still young and hungry....fighting a Guerrero or Broner won't put so many miles on him. The Broner fight may be somewhat of a tall order but not too farfetched at this point.

And that's the POINT of the matter....up and coming fighters ALWAYS fight gatekeepers and old legends before they become the star of the sport or division. That's why I laugh at a lot of you with your crying about prospects and contenders not facing Top 3 guys so early in their careers.

Look, records mean NOTHING if you aren't tested. Again, allow Benn to get a feel for the big stage against guys who have made their bones in the sport already. Hell, Canelo fought a TON of gatekeepers and old legends on his way up and you guys STILL call him a duck. There's no winning on NSB but I digress.

      Now go away!

There is no obsession with Benn. It is just laughable that his team look at Broner as a relevant guy at WW.
We are mocking Thurman for fighting Barrios who just got KO’d in his last fight by a guy that fights at 135.
Benn should have fought Thurman. That’s a huge step up and a good test for Benn. A winnable fight. Benn beats Broner easily and that’s why Benn gets slammed for clamoring for a silly meaningless fight.
Broner is not relevant in terms of the top tier. But Benn is not top tier, and nobody is claiming he is. So Broner is relevant at the level that Benn is at at the moment, which is a couple of levels below the top tier. You see it has to be put in the correct perspective. And Broner will give him more experience which he still badly needs, and a chance to practice his improvements and adjustments he makes in the gym. The problem with too many fans is they want to see fighters rushed through too quickly. He needs time to learn his trade, perfect his craft. There's nothing wrong with that. And its a massive profile boost and payday. Thurman is still levels above Benn also. I get the Barrios fight for Thurman as he's been out for a few years and he's not getting the top guys right away anyway.

Those aren’t big names at this time. Broner and Guerrero are irrelevant. And you speaking as a plugged in boxing fan should know that.
Benn is ready for a guy like Thurman. I think he beats Thurman and catapults him into the same contender position guys like Ennis are at.

If Ennis was to go after Broner or Guerrero, he would get the same backlash so it’s not like anyone is anointing him the 2nd coming of Floyd.
Wrong and wrong. Please stop it! A lot of you guys are happily making asses of yourselves!

Again, tell me a fighter that rose to stardom and didn't fight any past legends and/or gatekeepers. You may not like it but that's always been....and there's NOTHING you can do about it!

What's going on (or what's been going on) is gatekeepers sticking around and avoiding fights with prospects and contenders because they themselves want another crack at glory! I can't blame them but that sort of messes up the talent pool.

Nice long paragraph condoning ducking got it. You make no valid point other than the fact that Benn isn't ready to fight tough challengers yet like Avanesyan. He would rather fight gimme fights against a bunch of guys who started their careers at 126/130 respectively but these are the fights you are clamoring for. Guerrero shouldn't even be allowed to fight anymore his resistance is gone Conor will knock him out in 4 but a prime Guerrero would've wiped the floor with Benn it's just an unnecessary fight that only you want to see. Like I said you are the only boxing fan fine with an up and coming fighter taking on a bunch of semi retired fighters look at this thread almost everyone has the same sentiments as me.

Lmao we beg for the fights that take time? How so Avanesyan isn't a world champion at the moment so how long is it going to take for Benn to show interest in that one? Eddie already making excuses. Who the **** fights 1-2 times a year when they have barely have 20 fights and haven't won a title yet that's bull**** it should 3-5 times a year until they are contenders you obviously don't watch a lot of boxing. Benn laid an egg against Granados who had more to offer at this point than Guerrero and Broner combined. The fight is unnecessary but you can go ahead and keep supporting it.

“Massive profile boost”!!! You put a dent in your point by saying beating Broner is a “Massive profile boost”. Perhaps in the UK where Brits tend to think highly of washed up American fighters.
It is not a boost of any kind at all.
I understand matchmaking and getting a fighter where he needs to be. Many fighters have gone through that process.
All’s I’m repeating is that there are way better guys than Broner that Benn can beat. Respectable guys that will give him the boxing cred he’s looking for.

Thurman is not getting the top guys, you are right about that BUT he can get Benn. If you think Benn can’t beat Thurman today then at no time in his career will he be able to beat guys like Boots, Crawford or Spence.

We are now splitting hairs so let it be. We will wait for Benn to be ready. Let him him take his time boosting his profile with washed up guys. Broner is not even a gate keeper. But we’ll be here

No I did not BUT Canelo did step up to fight Floyd at 23 years old. He then fought Lara and Cotto before he was 25.
You are literally making my point.
Canelos career started when he was 16

                  Both have no amateur career

So benn has 7 years since his debut to take on anybody with a pulse and 9 years to fight lara and cotto

Do you understand when I break it down like that ?

                  • "So, I love Adrien Broner or if Shawn Porter wants to come out of retirement or Robert Guerrero [to fight Conor Benn]. All these kinds of names."

Hearn sounds very confident in his figher....

If Eddie's making excuses then why in the **** are you saying he should fight x, y, and z??? Who are YOU? Nobody.

Man, just go away already! Lol. If the promoter feels the fighter isn't ready then who are you again? I respect fighters with gatekeepers on their resume..it shows that the fighter's team took their time, made the right fights to make the fighter a star and ultimately preparing him for championship bouts against top guys.

                      Why aren't you getting this???

The same "fans" 9such as yourself) clamor for fights and as soon as the favorite fighter loses, you start running your cum dumpster about him being a hype job and so on. THIS is why we don't get the fights we want...because of clowns like you.

And it's just like a feckless loser to say how many people in this thread agrees with you. Another sign of weakness because you can't stand on your own points...not that they're of any substance to begin with.

Move on, fella. We're done here.
