Now, he can barely make the SMW limit fighting 2 times at a catchweight in his last 3 fights (171lbs, 169lbs and 169lbs)

If he really wants to fight Canelo, he should fight Beterbiev, Bivol and Smith Jr. And try to grab a lhw title.

Canelo’s going to move down to 175 anyway to fight one of Beterbiev/Bivol/Smith Jr after Makabu. David needs to get a LHW belt to force a Canelo fight instead of fighting the Lemieux’s of the world. Thoughts?

Their shouldn't be any reason why he dont take on these young hungry guys in their prime instead of picking weak ex-champions or a crap division to find his opponent.
