Comments Thread For: Thurman: Errol Spence is a Bigger Fight Than Terence Crawford

Former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman is looking to return to his division in the biggest way possible. Thurman is going to return to the ring against former WBA 'regular' junior welterweight champion Mario Barrios on February 5, in the main event of a Fox Sports pay-per-view card.

You gotta prove you're still the same guy, Keef. I didn't see it against Pac or Josesito.

Replace “bigger” with “more winnable” and I agree. Crawford makes short work of Thurman.

I mean Spence is fighting Ugas in March. IF Crawford wants another fight before the Spence fight, then a fight vs Thurman makes a lot of sense. Thurman is a big draw and that PPV will sell well.

            Spence vs Ugas in March
            Crawford vs Thurman in June

Winners face off in October or November.

Or Spence vs Ugas in March and winner fights Crawford in July.

If Errol Sprints gets past Ugas he will have 3 World titles to Crawfords 1 and Spence does slightly better PPV sales. So Keef once upon a time Thurman does make a solid case.

But on the flip side the biggest fight in the whole division by a big distance is Crawford v Sprints. Its the one fight everybody wants the most at 147, well I say most, not Spence fans.

Thurman "a big draw"....since when? He did good network ratings I suppose but you can throw any Tom,Dyck and Harry on network TV and get good ratings. He's been out of the ring for 3yrs,is coming off a loss so what relevance he had is long gone. His ppv against Barrios will bomb and a ppv with Crawford does about the same as Crawford vs Porter, maybe less. Crawford fighting Thurman at this point is just another roadblock for the fight that needs to happen after Ugas...and that's Spence vs Crawford, fuch anything else.
