Nobody knows if Martin would have actually beaten Glazkov in that injury fight. He's had some decent fights since and I respect how he's trying to fight his way back...f he can win this fight, I think he's earned some respect
Based on what. Fighting D level fighters?

I’ve always liked King Kong. Fast-handed and a smart operator — has to be, because he has all the mobility of an oil platform. Arguably he outboxed Wilder better than Fury, but failed because he doesn’t have the Gypsy King’s supernatural punch resistance (who does?). His career was managed terribly and now, with a backstory that involves costly medical treatment for his child, he’s boxing at a time when he should be fishing.

But buy a PPV against Martin? GTFO. Haymon cards like this one and Thurman’s are looking like a going out of business sale at the dollar store.

Martin can still get fights but a loss would probably end his aspirations of winning a second world title. Still an intriguing fight. Tough fight to pick but I would have chosen Ortiz a few years ago but at 42 it is hard for me to look past his age & lack of quality opposition in recent years. Martin is better than many here think & should be the fresher fighter. I think Martin could pull this out. I have it 50/50 at this stage of their careers…
I still wanna se Ortiz -Ruiz and Martin - Wilder or Helenius, regardless the outcome of this fight.

Remember, he's been training with Manny Robles for a couple years now.

When's the last time Ortiz fought a southpaw? Tony Thompson about 5 years ago?

The way I see it, Martin just needs to keep the jab in his face and keep moving until Ortiz gasses out.
Martin has bad habits of coasting through rounds and being lack luster ,it cost him the Kownacki fight . One can’t assume any fight is going to be easy for either fighter ,one slows down very bad as it goes and the other doesn’t press enough action to better set up his,own offense who, is Martin .

It’s a 50/50 fight on paper but I think Ortiz is going to catch him earlier and gets 4/5 round stoppage ,I hope the fight goes easy for Martin but Ortiz is going to fight back and I’m not confident in Martins abilities to take it to him when the time comes and it will .

I want to see any decent HW scrap at this point with the 4 titles tied up for 2022 & possible 2023… HW contenders need to fight for money & rankings so no reason there isn’t good fights coming. Contenders need to fight…

He got blown out against AJ and maybe shouldn't even have been in there, that' s the point. He started over and operates with most thinking he is an absolute bum, I think he's done alright since.

Beat Ortiz and he at least proves he belongs as a contender and not there by default because of an injury
