I think canelo wins by decision.......I don't get why people are mad @ ward, he's never said this about authur b4 now & he's seen authur fight prior to this, I feel like he definitely saw something

They hate Ward because he TWICE beat this monstrous, Russian puncher that was supposed to embarrass and shut him up. He won and he still speaks.

Ward’s observation is just that- his observation. The scary part is, Canelo’s doing the same thing Ward did by proving these fools wrong- repeatedly.

Correct. The amount of pro American fighter bias is disgusting. Ironically, Ward and Browne are the same fighter. Both use the headbutt and dirty tactics to gain an advantage and Ward just saw himself in what would have happened if they fought when Beterbiev was ibf mandatory when Ward tucked tail and ran into retirement. Ward is one of the most inferiority complex people in boxing outside Floyd Mayweather.

I agree he continued to decline, particularly after the second ward beating. But I think, maybe with hindsight, the slide had already started in the lead up to the first Ward fight.

perhaps but similar to what you said, he arguably beat Ward in that first fight. You don’t beat Ward if you’re not at the very least, close to the top of your game.

The first Ward fight was close but, to me at least, kovalev showed some slippage there - and didn't actually best ward. At the top of his game he might have. Thanks.

we can go back and forth about the controversy of Ward vs Kovalev and I can mention the controversy that has surrounded scoring in multiple canelo fights, but that’s not the point of my post. My point that you put in bold was that Ward fought the best version of Kovalev that existed. The feared version that was running though his competition in dominant fashion. Not the 36 yr old version that was 3-3 in his last 6 and stopped twice. Canelo wouldn’t have dared to step in the ring with Kovalev if he was the same guy he was leading into the first fight with Ward. Canelo doesn’t face guys coming off impressive runs, he faces guys after they show vulnerability that makes him sense there’s less risk.

I know I went off on a tangent about Ward vs Kovalev. I guess I'm still sore about that because even though Ward had the courage to take on a prime "Krusher", he fought him dirty. As to your point about Canelo taking on a faded Kovalev, and weak competition in general, spot on, I couldn't agree more!

Stevenson drinking through a straw now, and remember how Ward actually ducked Stevenson at 68 and at 75. Wards fanboys defending his cowardice going into retirement in shame after that low blow fest refuse to acknowledge he retired go avoid his two mandos Beterbiev and Bivol while having to contend with Stevenson who held the lineal title before Gvodzyk made him a vegetable. .

Yes, to me Ward was a good fighter who never truly reached his full potential. He lost 3 prime years between injury and suing promoter Dan Goosen. Besides the Super Six tournament, he only fought in Oakland. After he beat a few notable guys, he got out of the game. And now to some, he's somehow a hero? I don't get it. He should absolutely NOT ever be considered HOF material either.

Nah, it's just hard hearing Ward talk about how a guy he ducked into retirement to avoid, is now "beatable". Especially considering Beterbiev KO'd Browne and was ahead on all cards prior. Everybody is beatable, it's just a matter of someone with the skills, determination and balls to actually step up and do it. I don't see Alvarez doing it anytime soon.
