I don't think the weight is getting blown way out of proportion. True JMM weight at fight night at 144 against Diaz. So the weight limit is JMM walking weight. How is that not a big deal? Is like having Cotto fighting at Middleweight. Or, Pavlik walks around in the 170's it has been proving that him fighting above 160 he is not the same.

and if the fight is such a mismatch, why so many are begging floyd to fight manny for, wouldnt that be a mismatch as well? marquez is a way better boxer and counter puncher than manny is, so floyd isnt cherrypicking his opponents, he'l be facing one of the best in the world sept.19 . and why make a big fuss about marquez coming up 2 weight classes, but when pacquiao beat oscar, people praised him like he was a god or somethin, knowin damn well oscar was dead meat before it even started.

people just hate floyd no matter what the man does, he will always have haters, because hes flamboyant and talks alot. and they praise manny because hes quiet and doesnt talk, who cares about the personality, its about what they do in the ring.

prediction: MAYWEATHER WINS BY U.D. VS MARQUEZ
prediction: MAYWEATHER WINS BY K.O. VS PACQUIAO

U summed it up right there.

So he put on 9lbs in 24 hrs. FMJ walks around at 150 and the most he has ever came in to a fight is 149. So if JMM plans on weighing in @ 142 by fight night he will be roughly 150 so the weight will be even at least. Maybe you would have a point if you said the extra weight will make JMM even slower. But even if they fought when Floyd was 130 or 135, Jr. still waxes his ass...

LMAO..FMJ toys with Cotto for 12 rds. Cotto punches are too wide. Defense is open for a straight punch (left or right) down the middle. Seriously Floyd will make him reset his feet constantly and mentally Cotto will fold!!!

The hypocrisy here is hilarious. Both from Oscar and the posters who are agreeing with him.

                    1) When Bernard Hopkins had Kelly Pavlik move up two weight divisions, how many of you were saying before the fight that B-Hop needed to KO Kelly? In fact, after that fight, this forum lit up with "OMG, Bhop is ATG" threads. Did Hops come close to stopping Kelly?

What does it say that Jermain could knock down Kelly, but Hopkins could not?

                    2) Clottey is one of the more respected fighters on this board. How many of you lost respect for Clottey when Diego Corrales moves up two full weight divisions to fight Clottey? And keep in mind, Josh may be the biggest WW out there, having come into the ring as high as 170?
...and how do we know that Diego Corrales can be stopped? Because Mayweather knocked him down five times en route to a 10th round stoppage.

What does it say that Floyd could stop Chico, but Clottey could not?

This is boxing, gentlemen. It doesn't work that way.

yeah he's right, can Marquez stand up to any of Floyd's harder punches? I think he can, I'm hoping, in fact praying, that Mayweather comes out the traps quick to test Marquez to see what he has.
