I’m so glad PBC is bringing boxing back to network television tho.

what a strange stroke of "luck" if thats what you can call it for this guy. he gets battered around the ring by akhmedov and gets a gift decision which leads to a big ppv payday vs tank, and now another big ppv payday vs thurman. politics is everything. akhmedov even if he had won wouldnt have gotten any of these fights. it was almost preordained to happen for barrios. boxing definitely not a meritocracyLast edited by daggum; 12-19-2021, 03:00 AM.Comment

Blame FOX Corp. they want more PPV because it is very Profitable FOR THEM!
Fox’s shares, which closed at $41.58 on Wednesday, have gained 43% so far this year.
Fox’s cable programming unit, which includes the Fox Business Network and Fox Sports 1 channel as well as Fox News, pulled in $1.42 billion in revenue, up nearly 7% from last year. The easing of Covid-19 restrictions allowed for more sports. Fox also got a boost from pay-per-view boxing.
So yeah notice they already announced 2 PPV to start 2022 (Ortiz vs Martin and Thurman vs Barrios) and that does not include Spence vs Ugas in March so that makes 3 to start 2022 with more to come. I don't agree with it at all but you are at the mercy of these Networks a bit when you work with them and I think FOX Corp./FOX Sports have like 3-4 years of Options still with PBC so despite all the talk that PBC Deal is up in 2022 they will likely continue to show some boxing events and do some Boxing PPV Events still. We shall see how it plays out but what looks like a FLOP to us is not always a Flop to these Networks because it is the Traffic the want to their APP which gets them Ad Deals for Millions from Big CorporationsLast edited by sicko; 12-19-2021, 03:27 AM.Comment

Garbage fight. If Thurman wants to be taken seriously, he must fight a welterweight. How about Avanesyan?Comment
