Comments Thread For: Jake Paul Crushes Tyron Woodley With Brutal One-Punch Knockout in Sixth

He's had one amateur fight against a Youtuber, a pro fight against a Youtuber, a pro fight against a retired basketball player, and three pro fights against wrestling-focused MMA dudes.
He's an absolute novice and should be matched with other absolute novices. We all would love to see him get knocked out but the reality is he's ahead of where he realistically should be given his level of experience.
”We all would love to see him get KO’ed”
In reality, no, I do not care enough about them to want to see that. The truth is, Paul has overachieved already, by looking the part. Boxing is a tough sport and you need to put in a lot of work, too much work, to get to a point where you can now consistently box and throw punches in good form.
If you do not box/spar regularly, and you get in the ring right now versus your neighborhood garbage man, you will most likely look like a jack/ss in there. Most posters would. Most posters criticizing Paul, would look like a flailing idiot in there. Like Ben Askren. Picture a boxingscene poster in a boxing ring. They would look like Askren and even worse (except those who box as a hobby/train).
What is happening right now is, Paul made fans go from “he is just a Youtuber, he has no skills, he sucks” to “he needs to fight a real boxer. Let’s see him fight Tyson Fury.” Which is downright hilarious that fans have become so insecure at a celebrity boxer’s success in pro boxing. I don’t pay for these fights, I do not care who they are fighting. But I do youtube the highlights of their fights simply for entertainment purposes as I love watching anything that has to do with fighting. Just like I watch “Streetbeefs” on youtube just for entertainment.Comment

Let’s see him vs The Monster Inoue! I bet that we could get some $ from all of the real boxing fans to pay for that one.Comment

Who else can you put in that category who would knock a former UFC champion out cold?
I think the kid has talent, it remains to be seen how far he can go but he's impressing me so far.

I wouldnt be shocked if Jake KO'd Anderson at this point tbh, as much as it pains me to say it. The guy is 46 years old, his boxing skills are much better than Tyrons but his reflexes and durability have declined enough that Jake could land on him and hurt him.
I think this **** is just sad and embarrassing for MMA tbh. These MMA guys are looking like a bunch of jobbers who are prepared to make themselves and by extension their sport look bad for a payday. Can you imagine some Youtube kid/random celebrity training MMA for a year or two then luring name boxers into an MMA fight (which they then publicly claim is their biggest career payday) so he can beat them and brag about it? its just a terrible look.Comment

Suckers, clueless suckers making this guy rich, I don’t blame Paul I bet he can’t believe it that people are actually paying to see him KO undersized guys who patently cannot box, just look at Woodleys lead hand before the KO and where his feet are, it’s tragic, useless. I’m done with the forum, it’s been taken over by casual morons.Comment

It does not matter who the Paul’s fight. They are not in boxing to become legendary Hall of Famers. They are simply entertainers who are in pro boxing, literally only for the eventful part of it. The celebrity part of it.

Er... He's 24 and has had 5 fights of course he's not going to look as good as guys at world level.
Who else can you put in that category who would knock a former UFC champion out cold?

but in terms of fighting UFC guys, celebrities etc. he’s really good. None of those type should get in a ring with him for a boxing match unless they want to get smashed.
im still very doubtful he beats any semi decent boxer. Even that right hand he knocked out Woodley with was ridiculously telegraphed. I think anyone with the muscle memory and trained reflex of someone that’s solely a boxer would read that shot a mile off. That would be the difference when he fights someone who trains for boxing only. Most wouldn’t even be open and with the foot positioning that Woodley was.Last edited by deathofaclown; 12-19-2021, 06:56 AM.Comment

Lol this has been my point. Boxing is a tough sport a d you can't cheat the hard training that's required for all levels especially any form of competition. People so insecure they the fight/ko was staged lol. Nobody stagees getting knocked tf out when you could just throw the fight in less risky ways. Paul brother is at best a decent regional amateur, so obviously they Gonna be veryl careful matching him up
The same dudes who big up the early to mid 1900s boxers as being the best fighters ever, who can never be surpassed, actually look as bad Ben Askren and about as “good” as the Paul brothers. In the little footage I have seen of these “golden age” boxers, their form really looks about as bad as Ben Askren. And they made it into the HOF and considered top 10 ATG’s.
It is not even far-fetched to think Paul can KO someone like Jack Dempsey.
If the Paul brothers, with their skills, fought in the 1900s-1940s, today they would been hailed as heroes who can’t be surpassed. But now they are hated by those same people. It’s funny. Imagine how much Jack Dempsey would have been ridiculed today for form and style?Comment
