This thread shows Fury fans know **** all about how Mandatory defences work. They think Whyte has to accept 20%.

I guarantee Whyte gets more or Fury will drop the title. Want to bet? My guess is no, just like when i said Fury would pull out of the Joshua fight and you said he wouldn't.

It’s hard to say Klitschko was the PPV draw when his previous two fight where on Eurosport in the UK
Ah yeah of course, but my point is that the fight wasn’t in the UK and Klitschko was the A-side draw in that fight.
I’m not knocking Fury at all - I think he’s unquestionably the best fighter in the UK. However he doesn’t have the crossover appeal amongst the casual followers that AJ has, who still remains the biggest star and ticket seller, and I anticipate his rematch with Usyk will do better numbers than Fury-Whyte or whoever. AJ will have to continue losing badly for that to change.
Fury should honestly have been the biggest star after the Klitschko fight, but the scheduled rematch in Manchester struggled to sell. So my point remains that until he starts fighting here, I won’t bet significantly on him filling a stadium regardless of the opponent.
Say what you want about Whyte, who is obviously a far inferior fighter apart from the punch power, he’s a proven ticket seller who will bring value, entertainment and overall success to the promotion. Fury’s team petitioning for a 80-20 split seems to me that they’re not being serious, but let’s see..hopefully it’s simply a negotiation tactic.Comment

“Fury fans?” No, boxing fans. If this were any other non title boxer that doesn’t command ppv dollars I’d say the same thing until that person is a champion. Shyte should be begging for table scraps until he unseats a champion and can call the shots. This isn’t a charity.Comment

You also said that Joshua would knock Usyk brutally out, what happened there?
The WBC won't give Whyte 45% because he only earned 300K for his last fight.Comment

No it isn't a charity, it's a mandatory. There's rules so the title holders can't lowball and duck contenders. The same rules Fury used to get a good split from Klitschko.

It’s a fair split
Fury knows a 80/20 split is ducking a fight . He also knows when fighters want to fight they negotiate reasonably because that’s another thing he explained. He doesn’t want to fight Whyte that’s for sure ,posters have to know when someone is randomly b.sing or lying . He’s obviously flip flopping now to avoid a potential match here .
Whyte earned 300k for his last fight…
Fury took home 18 mil after all is said and done after Wilder 3
It’s not charity, The boxers earned what they did according to the revenue that is generated by them. That’s why Whyte got a measly 300k.
Fury is the one bringing the audience, especially internationally.
Whyte isn’t bringing anything to the table, not even a belt. 20% split his more than fair when you add up the numbers and the fact he brings nothing to the table. he should happily accept that if he believes he can win.Last edited by deathofaclown; 12-14-2021, 09:07 AM.Comment

And if it works for Whyte then good on him. I’d root for his outcome financially. I’m just jaded on today’s HW boxing scene. I’ve said and will continue to say it’s the weakest it has been in over 50 years. In the 90’s everyone knew who the top 10 were. Hell we knew the top 15 by name. I firmly believe the top 15 of early 90s would swiftly mop up today’s top 10. No question in my mind.Comment

I've said the same about the quality of the division many times. Doesn't change what Whyte is entitled to and 20% is a ridiculous offer. My money would be on Fury dropping the title, they obviously aren't serious.
