Anyone Giving Marcus Browne a Shot Against Artur Beterbiev?

After all, we have been seeing a lot of upsets and competitive fights lately and Beterbiev has only one fight in the last two years. Granted, so does Browne but weird things can happen when an inactive 36 year old is fighting someone with solid skills and pop. Browne has exceeded expectations in fights he was supposed to lose or struggle in while he has had bad performances in fights he was supposed to dominate in. Very inconsistent fighter but he has been training with Derrick James for this fight so at the very least you know he will be in good shape and be mentally prepared for the challenge. Browne's chin is not the greatest and Beterbiev is one of the best punchers in the game so on paper this looks like a mismatch....But I just don't know. Beterbiev did not look great in his last fight even though he pretty much dominated and had a stinker vs Koelling and got dropped by Johnson. He has some inconsistencies to his game as well. But at his best? We know just the type of force he is.

I favor Beterbiev, but think this could be a very interesting fight, especially if Browne survives the first half and is not put down or hurt too badly.

    What do you guys think?

I think he’ll frustrate Beterbiev early but he’s getting knocked out IMO.

To me, he's going to have to put a dent in early on and hurt or drop Beterbiev. We have seen Beterbiev dropped a few times already so not out of the realm of possibility. Bivol sort of is going through the emotions right now and Beterbiev is prone to some sub-par performances himself. The LHW division is kind of dull at the moment since those two aren't fighting and these guys are all in their 30s. One thing about Spence/Charlo, those two are mentally very strong and don't get flustered if things aren't going their way. Browne is a guy who can have lapses in the ring and lose confidence. If James can get him right in that department? I think we have a FIGHT on our hands!

Yeah Browne has more of that Dirrell type mindset.

I think Browne will have his running shoes on tbh. I expect once he feels Beterbiev’s power he’ll lose all enthusiasm.

Beterbiev can look a bit inconsistent against people he knows he can beat with ease, such as Koelling, Deines and Johnson. But I feel that he will raise the bar with Browne. He'll probably corner him soon and make his tires flat in a few rounds.

Beterbiev wins by stoppage in last rounds.

Will he look at Browne as a tough opponent though or will he just think of him losing to Pascal and the other inconsistent performances from Browne?

Both guys have not shown they can consistently perform fight in and fight out. Beterbiev is the better fighter and harder puncher but I think he's in tough Saturday night.

Interesting, I can't recall Browne really moving like that? Do you have a fight in mind? I mean against Pascal he kept getting hit with the same shot and would not move for some reason lol.

I question his IQ to be honest with you. Something is off with him. That's why getting with someone like Derrick James is good for him.
