He is doing what a rising contender should do. He he fighting old ex contenders.
All that hate is coming from the fans of Ennis, lol, who is fighting same level opposition as Benn.

Algeri had a tune-up in August, and he was fighting before the pandemic hit. I'm not saying that Algeri was a great opponent, but I honestly thought he would've provided more of a challenge.Comment

Benn is being promoted very hard for some reason, he has improved some but beating Algieri is meaningless as any kind of benchmark. Algieri is featherfisted and so limited and past prime. He was used because he had fougt guys like Pac, Spence and Khan thats all. The fact he lost emphatically to all of the above appears to seems to be irrelevant. Benn is raw, untested and unproven as pro.Comment

Not really a hype job since no-ones really hyping him. The general sentiment was more just that he's greatly improved from a few years ago when looked like **** and basic as hell getting dropped by a French regional level fighter. Most people ain't claiming much more than that, most don't seem to think he's ready for the top flight and IMO he likely never will be though it's possible he'll snag a title at some point.
Still hes a dynamic young fighter with a busy style and decent pop which makes him fun to watch, and although beating Algieri ain't really a big statement at this point it wasnt irrelevant either. Will be paying a little more attention to young Mr Benn going forward.Comment
