You ignore the fact that he was much younger Algieri then. He got knocked out cold from a punch when he was a kickboxer not the first time he's been knocked out. Like I said Benn did what he was supposed to do keep hyping him up though there's a reason he didn't jump on Granados he was weary of the counter punch why no mention of Ava?

I'm just pointing out he's not that easily Ko'd. His record shows that. I'm not particularly hyping Benn up. It was a fantastic ko win at the right level, for the stage he is at in what is a career of still limited experience. I make no claims or predictions of how much success he may or may not have. He is progressing nicely, that's all I would say right now.

Algieri looked a shell of what he once was (and he wasn't great), his jab was tepid and he waited for Benn to get off first before he'd launch a counter but he wasn't powerful enough to fight that fight.

Hats off to Benn for closing the show against a shopworn Algieri. We'll see how he goes when he steps up against a more fresh, capable opponent.

Call me a relic but boxing today is nothing like the 80s > It's a shameful sham although there has always been the element of corruption from the beginning we always got to see the best against the best, today we don't get any or little of that even though we as fans pay thru the nose for it. How in the hell can Stanionis or Butevov(excuse my spelling) with 13 or 14 fights get a championship shot before Ortiz or Ennis with 20+ fights and who are clearly better fighters and rank higher? Don't tell me they are being avoided as some of these fights are being deemed mandatory by the governing forces. I see why some of the best American athletes are choosing other sports. The ww division has always had a depth of talent its a shame to see it go to the likes of the hw division. More money less damage to the body playing backup or special teams for the NFL

Accurate. He didn't look like he belonged in there. His 0.1% aggression was incapable of taking out a young, capable fighter, especially when the fighter gets bolder each time he attacks and gets no return fire.

I agree I'm not hating on Benn all I'm saying is he did what he was supposed to do against who he had in front of him. I believe he has potential but I saw him struggle early in his career against Peynaud and I thought he lost the first fight. So as of now they are moving him along carefully by fighting fighters on the decline I want to see him against a live dog that's all I'm saying someone like Avanesyan or even Blair Cobbs that would be a good match up both are at the same point in their careers.
