Golovkin could have made the Erislandy Lara fight on several occasions. He just didn't want to.

So once again you are criticizing Canelo despite him doing things that Golovkin never dared to. Your bias is quite obvious.

Team Golovkin did actually reach out and DeCubas started putting up roadblocks. I'm sure they could've tried harder but Lara didn't even have his first official fight at MW until this year. If he really wanted it, he could've put himself in position to force Golovkin's hand. I wish they would've made that fight and I'm actually critical of multiple opponents over the years, but this Lara bull**** has to stop. Do you think that fight would have been on HBO PPV? because if it wasn't, there wouldn't have been enough money to cover what Golovkin was starting to pull in and what team Lara was asking for.

I don't think Lara really wanted that fight. What evidence is there that Lara was willing to take that fight? Was there a contract sent?

To be fair I don't think team GGG was that eager for that fight as well.

But again - when you can't control the judges like Canelo can, then facing a guy like Lara is a much tougher fight to take. If you lose 8-4 to Lara, you will probably lose 8-4 if you're GGG.

If you lose 8-4 to Lara and you're Canelo, you know you will win 7-5 officially, or maybe a SD.

I'd criticize GGG for a lot more stuff if any of the haters made any damn sense with their comments about him. You guys are usually so off base that the whole discussion revolves around calling you out for your absurdity.

What better way to prove what a ducker Canelo is than fighting the man who we all know beat him and beating him in convincing fashion? To me it was the best fight for GGG legacy at that time.

Dude, he wasn't low reward. Canelo was getting paid $1.5m base with PPV upside to fight him. That's not low reward. Do you think those guys would've taken $225k that Vanes took? I doubt they would because that's high risk, low reward. HBO didn't have the money to be paying out high purses if it wasn't on PPV. ****, Golovkin only got 1 million for that fight, which was significantly less than he had been making for the 2 or 3 years prior. Public callouts have been pretty ****ing meaningless the past several years. We would've got a lot more fights we wanted if that's how things worked. And it's even less meaningful having a trainer throw his fighters names into a hat hoping to be picked.
