We Mexicans are not with that victim mentality like a certain other group, but you are right one can’t help but think what the reaction would be if the roles were reversed. Floyd genuinely hated Fishnets. He felt he was like a fake Mexican that was more American. So he did anything he could to piss him off. Doesn’t justify it but I don’t think fans cared because I think a lot of Mexicans have always questioned that about odh. I recall this being a theme during the Chavez buildup as well.

But the mayweather loves Mexicans was just promotion. Also remember Roger wore sombreros as part of his ring outfit so it was also paying homage to him.
