None of this "oh he's better than that" type rhetoric. You're only as good as your last fight. So he'll have to prove that this wasn't an off night or that he might have already hit his peak. Doesn't matter the physical gifts you have if you don't have your head on right. Those two always have to be in tandem if you want to reach the upper echelons and stay there.
No One Needs to Fell Sorry For Teofimo But.....

Sure, but Teofimo is young and all this hit him at once so not crazy to believe it impacted him in a big way. A lot of people are now acting like he is overrated and not that good when not realizing how bad that makes Lomachenko look to lose to a "bum" lol.Like Kambosos told him, those belts have been a curse to you. He let the fame from beating Lomachenko and taking all of those belts get to his head. I don’t feel sorry for him at all, he should’ve known the only thing harder than getting the belts is keeping them. Everyone was gunning for him and he was acting all high and mighty like all the work had been done.
Spare us his sob story, most if not all boxers go through so many hardships and many way tougher stuff than that. Hell, Kambosos lost his grandfather a month ago and said he went to the gym right after the funeral. It’s a tough profession no doubt but Teo knew what he signed up for.Comment

He's 24 and is a quality fighter, plenty of time to grow up, calm down and become a much better Teo Lopez.Comment

Not something that will happen but I'd like to see Lopez in a fight against Prograis at 140. I think that would be incredibly violent and the press conference would be pure entertainment.

This was just his level. I’ve been saying he can’t box for awhile. People hung up on the idea that Teo was outboxing Lomachenko are probably the same people that said Ruiz was outboxing and a better boxer than Joshua. Just because they won doesn’t mean they were the better boxer.I didn't think he had the goods before he fought Loma but I was surprised that he was calm, sharp, and outboxed Loma for a majority of that fight. Amazing gameplan and I thought we had the skills and abilities and his dad was a good coach - he figured out how to beat Loma.
Then in the very first round last night, Lopez goes out all wreckless and wild!?!? Kambosos was so calm and seeing all the punches. He got Lopez with the check left and I could see that he had skill and was handling the pressure well. After the knockdown and round, all I hear is Lopez senior screaming that it was an off-balanced knockdown (it wasn't, he timed him and it was solid), he screamed Kambosos was done (he obviously wasn't, was totally calm and setting up counters), and was imploring Lopez to get him out of there! Like WTF? did they bet a ton of money on a KO in the first round? LOL. In my mind, the obvious advice should have been calm the F down and start boxing behind the jab. It was weird, like him and his dad totally overlooked Kambosos and didn't have a gameplan whatsoever which was confusing since they did so good against Loma.
Kambosos showed his skill, heart, and earned that victory 100%. Nice to see the big underdog who won the fight actually get the decision.
I just tried to watch this fight and I’m not joking when I say I fell asleep, in rd 6 I believe. Woke up in rd 12, Linares hurt him here again. Watched Teofimo after that, was reminded Lopez can’t box for sht, he’s all physicality and I managed to stay awake this time and saw him lose 7-4-1 to Nakatani (but it was an either way fight). Nakatani is super basic. Verdejo has always been a bum. Lomachenko will dominate him. He’s got nothing for him, not the skills, not the power, just might be a little awkward due to length and some durability, but wouldn’t be surprised if Loma forces a TKO/RTD.
Haney is a decent boxer, Lopez is a low-tier boxer, he will hit guys with big shots but loves to admire his work, why it takes him 7rd’s to stop some 5’3 c-tier in Magdaleno, couldn’t knockdown Nakatani (like Verdejo managed, twice I believe), or even managed any real damage on Lomachenko (if you want to argue that borderline stun, you can have it). His claim to being this monster KO artist is his stoppage over a fragile and super open hypejob in Commey. If Haney doesn’t get effectively done in by one shot He can easily outpoint Lopez. Lopez does get extra credit for his flash though, despite being inactive as sht.Comment

Emaciated lol, he looked no different than when he beat Loma, he is a big LW and has a hard cut but he has done it every fight and nobody complained until he loses.Comment
-
You can lol all you want, but that's what he complained about, "They've been draining me..."
Kambosos offered him a rematch in Australia in front of his face and he brushed it off.
What exactly is your point?Comment

What we saw was a weight bully get bullied. The guy has been using his size and power to just run over people, and last night showed what happens when his plan A doesn't work out. As for feeling bad, hells no. This is the same dude that was doing Fortnite dances and backflips after knocking dudes out. Same dude that ran from the Loma rematch, and acted like the second coming of Ali ever since. Maybe this ass beating was what the kid needed to finally grow up,or maybe we have the next broner on our hands.Comment
