No One Needs to Fell Sorry For Teofimo But.....

I think we have to acknowledge as a young 24 year old man, he was going through a lot of things. Supposedly his family was in tough situation money wise and really needed this payday. Not only that, but he battled covid for a month while also separating from his wife. For someone that young, this could really mess with your head and I think it did. He was not in great shape, came with a terrible game plan and didn't look focused at all leading up to the fight.

He has his fair share of flaws but I don't think last night was a true reflective of the fighter he really is. Teofimo can come back but he needs to make some changes to his camp and bring back a veteran presence in Joey Gamache.

I didn't think he had the goods before he fought Loma but I was surprised that he was calm, sharp, and outboxed Loma for a majority of that fight. Amazing gameplan and I thought we had the skills and abilities and his dad was a good coach - he figured out how to beat Loma.

Then in the very first round last night, Lopez goes out all wreckless and wild!?!? Kambosos was so calm and seeing all the punches. He got Lopez with the check left and I could see that he had skill and was handling the pressure well. After the knockdown and round, all I hear is Lopez senior screaming that it was an off-balanced knockdown (it wasn't, he timed him and it was solid), he screamed Kambosos was done (he obviously wasn't, was totally calm and setting up counters), and was imploring Lopez to get him out of there! Like WTF? did they bet a ton of money on a KO in the first round? LOL. In my mind, the obvious advice should have been calm the F down and start boxing behind the jab. It was weird, like him and his dad totally overlooked Kambosos and didn't have a gameplan whatsoever which was confusing since they did so good against Loma.

Kambosos showed his skill, heart, and earned that victory 100%. Nice to see the big underdog who won the fight actually get the decision.

Like Kambosos told him, those belts have been a curse to you. He let the fame from beating Lomachenko and taking all of those belts get to his head. I don’t feel sorry for him at all, he should’ve known the only thing harder than getting the belts is keeping them. Everyone was gunning for him and he was acting all high and mighty like all the work had been done.

Spare us his sob story, most if not all boxers go through so many hardships and many way tougher stuff than that. Hell, Kambosos lost his grandfather a month ago and said he went to the gym right after the funeral. It’s a tough profession no doubt but Teo knew what he signed up for.

He can definitely come back, I agree. It might be hard but I think he gotta give his pops the axe before he can make a real change. Take some time and get acclimated to 140. He'll be fine.

That Arnold Barbosa fight makes a lot of sense right now.

yeah NOBODY is going to have sympathy for him considering how he and his Dad are behaving just completely Classless

He will be OK and yes he can bounce back if he demotes his father and tell him to STFU...but he not beating Josh Taylor at 140

It was a competitive fight against a decent fighter and he had a terrible game plan. He’s much better than that.

              He’s also a young man.

Only in America can you be earning millions dollar paydays and still have money issues

Young men went into real wars at age 16 and weren’t getting paid 6 or 7 figures

                  Lopez's psyche is weak.

I'm afraid Kambosos was his Maidana, and that means he'll slide down the scale of relevance from now on.

He's done at 135. That's for sure. He looked emaciated.
No sense in punishing yourself trying to make the weight.

All focus should be in seeing him at Junior Welter.
