I was amped for the Fulton/Figueroa fight and saw Lopez/Kambosos fight as a less appealing appetizer. I have to say as soon as the main event started in New York, I felt a buzz about the fight. Usually an electricity I only feel for the biggest of matchups. Incredibly entertaining.

When I switched over to the Fulton/Figueroa fight (which was highly entertaining itself) it was almost anticlimactic for me.

Figueroa's style never appealed to me, so I was looking forward more on the Kambosos.
I did watch the Showtime fight but not in its entirety. I knew it's going to be the same typical rounds
after the first rounds. I did something else, then went back when the winner was announced.

The entire storyline behind the Lopez/Kambosos is crazy in itself with all of the subplots. The fact it went to purse bid and the crazy offer by Triller which tuned out to be a nightmare for everyone involved. All of the delays and postponements for various reasons and then Kambosos filing the complaint to the IBF and resulting default order. Having Hearn and DAZN put on a card with a unified champion who was under a different promotional banner. I'm not even sure they wanted the fight so much as they felt compelled to take it because of the opportunity to keep it from Arum. Crazy.

I agree. Would love too see someone make a mini documentary on the Lopez-Kambosos saga on YouTube or something.

4am fight for me in the UK, I was so convinced it was going to be a forgone conclusion I was just guna go bed and watch the replay on DAZN in the morning but something in my head told me I was up late anyway it was worth seeing the night through. Replays are never as good as live even if you don't know the result.

Absolutely buzzing I was, I love a shock, turn up for the books, underdog win in this sport, I was even left buzzing after Ruiz did AJ at the MSG and I'm a big Joshua fan. There is nothing better in the sport than a shock.

Thing is now all those fa99y Kings at 135 who are all avoiding each other have a new king and this one will have the bollocks to face anybody.

Yeah, this is why some fans who swore on a dying sport keep coming back because of fights like this. The trash-talking, arrogant A-side gets beat, all bloodied, went crashing down back to earth and reality. It's always a tried and true formula to attract flies. Still can't get over it.
