WTF 2 judges had it 10 - 9 to George in the 1st round? what the hell? that was a heavy KD. Lopez got dropped good and proper.

Good hard punch yes, but still taken by Lopez like a flash KD. Certainly was more embarrassed than hurt.
K was hurt when he went down and had to clear his head before he face the ref.Comment

I am sorry I was not clear . . . Yes you are
correct the only reason they gave Looez a 10-9 round was becuse he was winning the round otherwise had the round been even or K's round it would of been scored 10-8 ( My opinion is withoutstanding, just my opinion.)Comment

Perhaps. But a 10-8 provides consistency. There was no consistency in the fact that one loses 2 points but the other only lost one? Most people see a knockdown as a 10-8. Jose Ramirez gave an interview after losing to Josh Taylor, and admitted that after his first knockdown (which happened at the start of the round ), that the round was lost, and so he had to focus on reasserting himself. Here in the UK a 10-8 is always given. It cuts out that grey area, and controversy.Comment

Exactly, because landing a big shot is harder when your under pressure so hats off to KambososComment

This is why you score it 10-8. Because we then get into, did he do enough to win the round or not?, was it a flash knockdown or not? A knockdown should count as 10-8 irrespective of what else happened and how shook up the guy was or wasn't. It removes controversy.Comment

That's too concrete for my way of thinking - prize fighting, and who is actually winning a fight, goes beyond mere punch and KD counting. That's amateur scoring. The professional fight game is full of nuances.
Although please understand I am not in anyway suggesting Lopez won the fight, only that the two judges 10-9 scores didn't surprise me.Comment

Thats cool pal, you have your opinion and are clearly explaining your thoughts and although I see things differently, I very much respect you for that
