Comments Thread For: Ugas-Stanionis: WBA Schedules Purse Bid Hearing, December 9 In Miami

Yordenis Ugas is thankful for his title reign, if not the manner in which he is required to maintain that status. A purse bid hearing has been added to the schedule to determine promotional rights for Ugas' ordered WBA "Super" welterweight title defense versus Lithuania's Eimantas Stanionis. The sanctioning body took that step after having exhausted all options following a period of more than two months since the fight was first mandated in September.

Jake Donovan you are coming across terribly in your articles recently. They stink of PBC bias. Either a PBC fanboy who’s still raging Fury smashed Wilder yet again and dominated their rivalry unbeaten in 3 fights, or on the PBC payroll. Or maybe both. Sort it out and write more balanced, unbiased articles instead of trying to praise PBC at every turn. Maybe ask them to stop assisting Spence in ducking Crawford, charlo in ducking Andrade and Benavidez, and Tank in ducking everyone while you’re at it.

What a ****** waste of time. They should make all the fake titlists fight each other and let the ultimate winner become mandatory to Ugas. Punishing Ugas by making him fight two mandatories in a row when everyone wants to see him fight Spence or Crawford is ridiculous.

Wouldn't surprise me if Probellum wins the purse bid! Want to see what happens with the WBA Title @ 168? Will they force Canelo to fight David Morrell Jr.? Will they order Teofimo Lopez vs. Gervonta Davis?

I don't care about these corrupt belts but, bro, Jake Donovan is one of the best boxing journalists around. Not saying that I always agree with him. Chill out, and apologies for butting in.

How about we ask eddie and matchroom or dazn to stop assisting ggg in ducking andrade, an in house fight that should be waaaay easier to make. F is wrong with yall??? Its always this f’n promoter over that promoter. You hate this one and love the other. FOH!! All these muh’fkin promoters are keeping fights from happening and have been doing it for decades now if not more. That goes for pbc, top rank, matchroom, gbp and whoever else you may hold in high regard. F the biz of boxing and get on with the fighting.

Why are the wba ordering this format @ 147 but no in all the other divisions where they've had interim/regular/super champs? Something wrong here.

Hey, you only slipped that news about Bryan vs Charr in right at the end, even though you know that's the info the world has been waiting for

Interesting note: Heavyweight is the last weight class the WBA has 3 champions in.
