This is very bad news for Crawford's free agency. Pulling less than 150K and being 34, I think it's most likely too little too late. With those numbers and that skill set, he is both, too risky to fight against, and not worth the money.

I hate to say it but there isn't enough fish in the pond known as Omaha that like boxing. Also, what's with the inactivity? In the sport of boxing, a fighter needs to stay active.

It's because Bob Arum should retire and Top Rank is a lousy promotional outfit. He would have sold more than double that amount working with Al Haymon and on the PBC.

Why would Crawford care about these numbers? He has been getting big guaranteed purses for years. He has been making more than loads of guys who have millions of social media followers.

            Can't blame the ESPN app.
The dumbest fans in the world (UFC) manage to find their MAGA hats & order PPV all the time.

But then in the grand scheme of things considering the size of the american market even the so called ppv stars like tank, spence and wilder do weak numbers. Anything under 500k
in that market should be seen as a disappointment.

But strangling women, getting drunk and crashing cars or being all racist while playing with gold plated weapons seems to be able to gain you an extra 50 to 100k in ppv sales so bud start beating your woman

I think he would do higher numbers if it was a Showtime PPV. I feel like people get confused by the ESPN+ app.

Crawford has a very loyal fanbase that travels well and he always will pack out an arena or come close to it. The problem is he has yet to attract the right amount of casuals or non-Nebraska fans. Spence was smart to link himself up with the Cowboys and the state of Texas really supports him and Tank is just much popular in the hip hop and urban communities. He's been able to bring out fans even when he was fighting on the undercards. He's always being mentioned in rap songs from top guys like Lil Baby and that really helps him.

It's hard to sell PPVs. But with the way the PPVs are structured, you can generate more revenue than ever on lesser sales. The digital buys are complete game changers so even if Crawford/Porter failed to do 150k buys, TR did not lose much money on that fight, if at all.

He's not lying when saying that some people did not know how to order the fight. UFC has had their PPVs off ESPN+ for a few years now so their fanbase knows exactly what to do. But there is a generational of boxing fans that are not up to date with the apps and are used to purchasing just off their satellite/cable provider. Even DAZN has started to make Canelo fights available off PPV for those that don't want to purchase the app or watch it that way. But would Bud have all of a sudden sold 500k buys like Arum was stating? Of course not.

The only non-Spence fight that will sell for Crawford on PPV is Thurman. That is the fight he should be gunning for next if it is not Spence. Anything else is just a waste at this point.
