It's also really weird logic that just because Sanchez said Golovkin was losing around round 7, that he therefore lost the fight. Not like Golovkin rallied the second half of the fight or anything. "Welp, you didn't win the first half of the fight so you can no longer win the fight now." Don't even bother getting into it with a guy who has a name like he does.

Not to mention that Abel is a smart enough guy, I think he realized that the fight was realistically close in the first half or so, close enough that GGG wasn't going to get the benefit of the doubt from any judges in Vegas.

He knew that to beat Canelo, you had to make it CLEAR. So him telling a fighter anything in the fight, I mean who cares lol

Yeah I am completely fine with a draw or 1 round either way. There was no dominate performance from Canelo like his diehards would have people believe. I think what surprised Golovkin the most in the beginning of the rematch was Canelo's higher than normal output. It was his highest or 2nd highest fight for punches thrown. He's certainly tapered off or gone back to his mean average.

That's why the opening rounds were close, in each fight. Canelo's speed and quickness/youth helped neutralize GGG's activity. Then as the fight goes on, GGG ramps up production, and Canelo slows down. Both fights were for GGG and honestly not even that close.

Who can blame Canelo for deciding not to do that 3rd GGG fight and deciding to fight Rocky Fielding instead?
A fighter's health always come first.
Apart from that 1st round KO by Callum Smith, Rocky wasn't that bad.

Canelo fought Fielding and signed to fight Jacobs when GGG was still in hiding recovering from the damage. He finally reemerged just to announce he was fighting a scrub and Banks already turned down the trilogy ironically saying they wanted more time (to keep fighting scrubs). Moral of the story, GGG really loves fighting scrubs.

It's obvious not even GGG's own corner believes he won deep down. Abel himself acknowledged Canelo was deserving of the win and praised the judges for doing a good job. You don't hear a trainer make that kind of concession unless in their heart they feel like their fighter lost. GGG also reacted like a fighter who knows he lost, he remained inactive for a lengthy time, got rid of his longtime trainer, no longer claims Mexican style when all he did was thump his chest about it, and is done taking challenges including turning down the trilogy coming off the L. It's hard to feel like a winner when you were beaten by the standards you put forth, by the style of fighting you defined yourself by, along with physically catching a beating.
