Congratulations on a great career Shawn. This man fought everyone and never stopped pressuring his opponents and coming forward. He conducted himself with class out of the ring as well and never lowered himself to some of the pathetic garbage trash talk that some of his peers specialize in which is tribute to his dad. I look forward to hearing him call fights in the future.Comment

"I am not going to be a gatekeeper". He sounds like a man who gets it. We will see.Comment

FACTS. Bud got hit with too many clean shots. If Ennis connects like that it’s night night.Comment

Time for him to enjoy his retirement if that's what he wants. He comes across well in and out of the ring and has been good for the sport.
He faced everyone, won some good fights and gave everyone he shared a ring with a tough night.Comment

Remind me who Ennis is. And, who has he fought? If folks complain about Bud's resume, then they'd really go nuts over Ennis's competition. Terrence "Bud" Crawford has an iron chin and a boxing ringmanship very rarely seen. From both sides, conventional or southpaw, Bud breaks down opponents, takes away their strength and then begins the inevitable march to a knocking them out or winning by TKO. I don't care what boxing style you have, Bud will figure it out and beat you down.Comment

If anything, I think ending his career on such an L is going to eat away at such a competitive person like Porter. At the same time though, I hope he can make peace with his career and the book end to it. He has nothing to feel negative about, the man was a true competitor. All politicking aside. Go into the sunset with your head held high, is what I say.
His father though. What he did is gonna probably be one of few regrets in his life. He’ll probably make something up in his head about it but my assumption is, he’ll feel he did wrong in the end. He thought they’ll have another day and pulled the plug too quickly… now he’ll never have that “next time”, so to speak.
Bad stoppage to a great fight; extremely close and competitive fight. But Porter is a wonderful competitor in a very dangerous activity. Hats off to him. Good luck to him in his future endeavors. Great guy, good fighter.Comment

But I do agree with the general idea. Crawford did get hit clean a lot in that fight and a man with more power will probably put some dents in Crawford to where he can’t turn up to another gear later in the fight due to the damage accumulating.
Porter got in some picture perfect left hooks to the body. A more powerful man will definitely deplete Crawford’s gas tank connecting like that. Crawford is a real boxer though, so he won’t go quietly. Whoever fights him to beat him will have to take hell to beat him. That’s for certain.Comment

i wanted to watch a ko. but the fans were robbed of a ko.
good riddance to porter. his style is ugly, he can't punch and the guy was in reality nothing more than a gatekeeper.
he is like the kiko martinez of welter except kiko is a better fighter, who can actually punch.Comment
