That's why Andrade is being called it too.

Exactly! He might have ATG skills but you have to have the resume to prove it. Beating Porter adds to his resume. If he can beat Spence Ennis and Ortiz then he'd be an ATG for me. Or if he beats Porter and/or Spence and goes up to 154 and unifies.

Oh they will be called that! Just wait. The brainwashers know that in order to brainwash people, you have to have influence, and authority. So what better way than to take over most the journalism jobs (well, really any job of authority and influence), not just in boxing but across the board?

There is no free press anymore. There seem to be no, or very few, honest people in the media. If they were honest, they would have been fired already.

nowadays boxers are called GREAT and ATG with weak/losing resumes. they don’t have to face and beat anyone of note.

Is this writer really calling Crawford an all time great?

You can't be an all-time great with what Crawford did in his career.

This guy hid behind Bob Arum, chasing one fight, vs Pacquiao, and never even got that fight. Chasing a past-prime great. While facing no-hoper after no-hoper. Resigning with TR, again, chasing a unicorn. Fighting nobody. All the top 10 WW's were with PBC, he avoided signing with PBC. Even Pacquiao grew tired of Top Rank and their lack of good challenges and left to PBC. The past prime great that Crawford was chasing, went across the street for better competition.

Crawford has some good 147 names on his resume. Amir Khan, Kell Brook, and Shawn Porter (if he beats him). The problem with these names are that Khan was no longer ranked in TBRB or The Ring's top 10 welterweights. Neither was Kell Brook. So, two out of Crawford's best 3 names at 147 were not even seen as the part of top 10 best at the weight class.

With Porter, Crawford is fighting the first ever top 5 ranked fighter of a weight class since he fought Viktor Postol. Postol was 2016. Crawford just went 5 years without facing a top 5 fighter. Media/writers still ranked Crawford very highly, without him even doing anything special at all.

As far The Ring rankings go:

                Ricky Burns: #3 Ranked (135)

                Gamboa: Not top 10 (135)

                Beltran: #2 Ranked (135)

Henry Lundy: Not top 10 (140)

                Dulorme: #10 Ranked (140)

Dierry Jean: Not top 10 (140)

                Postol: #1 Ranked (140)

Molina Jr: Not top 10 (140)

Felix Diaz: Not top 10 (140)

                Indongo: #7 Ranked (140)

                Horn: #8 Ranked (147)

                Benavidez: Not top 10 (147)

                Khan: Not top 10 (147)

                Kavaliauskas: #7 (147)

Kell Brook: Not top 10 (147)

                Shawn Porter: #4 (147)

This guy is 34 years old, has been fighting pro since 2008, has fought in 3 weight classes, and only has a total of 3 wins over top 5 ranked fighters. Placing Crawford in the Hall of Fame is an insult to other fighters in the HOF. Claiming Crawford is an ATG is an insult to boxing as a whole.
You are absolutely right. He has skills, but has made a career of fighting a bunch of C class fighters. What's going to happen when he fights someone on equal terms? They should all stay away from boots Enis. I think he knocks them all out!

Crawford’s reluctance of not fighting top guys and avoid leaving TR for bigger fights and better names, is the product of the media.

The sports media outlets, and boxing journalists, made him. He is their product. They rewarded his weak resume by ranking him highly in the top 10 P4P list, he was de****ably placed in the top 5 P4P and #2 ranked at 147.

Crawford probably figured that due to him being overrated by Max Kellerman, being called “equal to or better than Sugar Ray Leonard” by Arum. And lastly getting easy paychecks, why would he want to ever step up when writers/media are calling him an ATG and praising his performances against mediocre opponents?

“Arum: Crawford is Equal if Not Better Than Sugar Ray Leonard”

Crawford should have done his research, if he cared, on why De La Hoya, Mayweather, Cotto, and Pacquiao all left Top Rank, chasing bigger fights.

This guy was basically created, molded by the media as one of the top 3 best. It goes to show how much power the media has on reporting fights/fighters. They did a really great job in creating a false great. I would not be surprised if writers/announcers get paid by Arum to hype up Crawford.

I used to like Crawford when he was at 135-140. At that time, some groups of fans were unreasonably criticizing Crawford. I supported and defended Bud. But then Crawford got to a point where no unbiased fan of his can legitimately defend his opponent selection and lack of elite fighters faced. I gave up on him a while ago. And he proves to me every year, why I stopped defending him.

ATG based on “eye test”? What’s next? Are we officially going to call him “TBE”?

Dude nearly got his eye busted against a shot to **** Kell Brook, got dropped on his ass by an C-level boxer in EK, he’s always there to get hit with lead straight right hand. Good boxer, but beyond overhyped and overrated for his in-ring abilities.
