All the Clenelo fans have posters of him.

Makabu vs Canelo will have the likes of Mayweather against Paul (size and talent wise). As for Bellew, well he's just a C level fighter that had way more success than he should have because Hearn can sell just about anything to gullible British fans. Remember that his best win is an handicapped and past due date Haye...

Best win at heavyweight yes, but not his best win in the weight he used to campaign in.

Other top fighters when they go up 5lbs of weight they need tune up fights against a couple of C class fighters first, for sure not for a world championship belt.

There are a lot of examples.

Canelo Alvarez strikes me of the type of fighter, who only takes fights he knows he can win. This is no discredit to him, all the best champions behavior exactly the same way.

The whole world thought Muhammad Ali could not beat George Foreman, even his own team deep down where petrified for him. But Muhammad Ali saw something in Foreman which he could exploit.

Canelo Alvarez is most likely in that same kind of situation, there is a reason why he picked Makabu over all the other Cruiser weight champions. There was a reason why Roy Jones Junior chose John Ruiz at heavyweight, these fighters see something in their opponents which they believe they can exploit.

I am still dubious of Makabu, he was far too matey matey when he came face to face with Alvarez.

Then what is his best win? Domestic level Cleverly? Gatekeepers Chilemba and Flores? I mean seriously, just look at Makabu's record and tell me without laughing that this fight isn't garbage.

Well, I never expected Canelo to go to cruiserweight let alone fight for the WBC belt on his first attempt as well. and I am not expecting him to fight the top guy of the division when he is a 160lbs - 168lbs fighter.

This is the same like Roy Jones Jr did, he fought the weakest champion of the division since he was never a heavyweight, he didn't fight Lennox, Holyfield or Vitali.

Again he is a 160 - 168lbs guy, Cruiserweight is 200lbs at the weigh in and more on fight night. There are top fighters that complain about 5lbs difference, let alone 40lbs.

I don't lie and I never heard of him..But it don't matter he's bigger and has advantages.
stepping up weight is taking a risk as is stepping down 2 divisions. Nel O might not be able to take even glancing blows off the big man. Malibu needs to be perfect for 2 seconds
