I don't think this is easy as people say. Canelo already looks like he lacks power at Super Middle. And that iron chin won't be as much use against a Crusierweight. Canelo used to box but he barely throws a jab in recent fights. Also I don't get what that guy above is saying : Mukabu looks much bigger than Canelo in that video!

It's silly to think it will be easy. Do people think BJ's, plant, Callum Smith could step up 2 divisions and think it's easy?
Nelo will be outsized and giving all advantages away. Yes it might be a catch weight but we will forgive nelo that as it is 5,th weight class and nelo will continue fighting another 5 years or so, so that he wants to preserve his career a little longer can't begrudge him that

I watched him get pummeled by Bellew, live on TV. Great fight. Bellew annihilated the guy. And BTW... after that fight, IMO his punch resistance diminished a little bit. This will definitely be an interesting fight, no matter how it ends up. I think Canelo will be too fast for Makabu, although Canelo may have his hands full if he tries to KO the guy.

Don't know what fight you saw bro. In the real fight, Makabu knocked down Bellew in the first round, and a few rounds later Bellew landed a lose bullet on a flurry that knocked out Makabu. Yet, that was 10 fights ago and since then Makabu has 9 fight, 9 wins, 7 KOs.

Canelo definitely going to feel the heavy punches and he's going to love it, he'll be saying finally some real punches. Then he'll just use his skills to attack the body and paralyze his opponent and then KO.

Canelo is running the show! Good for Ilunga making a life changing money for him and his family. Give Canelo credit for going up to 200 pds. I don't care what the losers says that Ilunga is slow but he's a full pledged CW and his punches will be hard!

This whole play reminds me of wrestling. You can choose to wrestle in the big tournament with the four-foot tall trophies this Saturday or the smaller tournament in some small town in Jersey. Most of the best guys will be trying to win those crazy big trophies. The easier pick is the small tournament, and it's smarter if you're not sure if your skills are ready for that yet. It probably won't be the top guys, but you still have to win your matches to place.

There's no reason to hate on Canelo for it, or discount the challenge. Why would he jump up that far and go straight to Briedes? (sp?) He might not even take it that far. For now, he sees a chance to grab a belt and feels confident enough to make the move. Respect for that, because he's still putting himself out there.
