He was born in the UK and lived the first 12 years of his life there. He didnt leave as a young kid, he was entering his teenage years, spent the vast majority of his childhood there, would have had a British accent and been clearly identifiable as a British immigrant (which he mentions in that interview someone posted a few pages back where he himself states that hes British). At the time of the 84 olympics he was representing Canada having only lived there for 7 years, 12 years after initially moving to Canada he was back fighting in the UK, barely ever fought in Canada.

Clearly hes British much more than he is Canadian. I dunno if you guys are just desperate to claim him for the glory or if being new worlders you have a much more lenient concept of what nationality means. Ive lived most of the last 15 years outside the UK, doesnt mean I somehow stop being British or that any skills I learn in another country can only be attributed to that country and not me.

Any skills that you learn in another country can't be attributed to the UK, that's for sure.

Yep and that isn't really a shocker either. Bruno, like may British fighters, is very physically fit and well trained. But he had a questionable chin and folded during big time fights. Pretty certain he gave Tyson trouble too in their first bout.

He learned to box in Canada.

He was on two Canadian Olympic teams and won an Olympic gold medal for Canada.

Lennox Lewis obviously represents Canadian boxing.
