  • This fight is a joke IMO. the only person that thinks Canelo will lose this fight is Makabu. Canelo's 3 toughest fights right now are against Andrade, Charlo, and Benavidez. But at every turn when these fights are available and can be made he goes elsewhere. I don't care how many KO'S a fighter has, you have to be able to hit your opponent. Boxing is about skills. And the 3 mentioned above are the toughest skill vs skill match ups for Canelo. I wish he would at least fight one of these guys and shut folks up.

Your posts are nothing but hate and drivel.

Him going to CW will not affect the future of anyone from 160-175. They are all now free to fight each other and make their own legacies without waiting on the Canelo lotto ticket.
If you think I'm a Canelo "hater" then let me tell you why it may look that way. The guy has essentially been fighting at catch-weights putting opponents in disadvantaged positions, he gets favorable decisions from judges, he got busted for PEDs, he is not taking on the prime opposition in each division but will take the path of least resistance before "daring to be great" by targeting low lying fruit, he's now getting favorable treatment from a sanctioning body, he puts rehydration clauses into non catch-weight fights he gives opponents little preparation time for fights or offers fights to opponents just coming off from wars, and he waits for great fighters to age before fighting them to glitter up his resume such as Mosley, Golovkin, Baldomir and Kovalev.

All of the above is not fabricated... they are 100% facts! I find it difficult to understand how one could actually like him with the amount of antics he pulls. The funny thing is the guy is a good fighter with a high boxing IQ, he probably doesn't even need to do half of the stuff he does but I guess we'll never know how he really gets on against prime and live opposition without no concessions in the contracts or selecting opposition the way he does etc.

At the end of the day its the mark of the man... he is obviously insecure in his fighting or mental game to be behaving the way he does.

List the opponents that had these catchweight disadvantages.
          Judges, not his fault
"PEDs"? LOL miniscule amount of clenbuterol was found in his system, which now, that amount wouldn't be illegal.
Which "prime" opponents has he avoided?
What A-list boxer hasn't gotten favorable treatment from sanctioning bodies. It's been going on for decades, and just now you want to cry about it?

Like I said, if he moves to CW, he will completely leave everyone from 160-175 to fight without waiting on him. What's the problem with that?

Fine, watch the Westminster dog show until a fight that tickles your fancy comes up.

Unlike you groupies who will celebrate and defend anything canelo does.
Cute. Alvarez has earned a gimme fight after beating 3 undefeated fighter within 11 months to become undisputed. His gimme btw is 32 lb heavier than him.

I haven’t paid a dollar to watch a canelo fight in over 3 years so I won’t be supporting it.
            Fine, who gives a 5hlt.

If you’re thrilled with it, go on and spend your minimum wage salary on it and stay out of my business ya bozo.

            YDKSAB...but you already know this.

Charlo ducking Benavidez. Benavidez called him a p.ussy on live tv and Charlo hasn't responded. Charlo will be on coward status if a week goes by and hasn't responded.

Canelo leaving to cruiser will free up everyone from 160-175 to fight each other. Let's see how brave Charlo is now, let's see if he can unify the 160 division, go up to 168 to clean it out, go to 175 and clean that out as well? Or is he going to continue to cry about Canelo at 160 from 2015?

Canelo's six month transformation for Kovalev, bulking up 25 pounds. Now if you think this is impressive, just wait until you see his five month transformation, bulking up 35 pounds for the cruiserweight title shot.

People really need to recognize this for the bull**** that it is. Ilungu Makabu is 6ft tall, with a 74 inch reach. Callum Smith is 6'3" with a 78 inch reach. BJS is 5'11" with a 71 inch reach, and Plant is 6'1" with a 74 inch reach. So his past opponents, on average, have been bigger than Makabu. Makabu has not fought for several years. Makabu hasn't really fought an elite opponent, and when he did fight an elite opponent, he got sparked in several rounds.

This is the near equivalent of fighting a Rocky Fielding, who happened to be 6'1" with a 75" reach. I repeat: THIS IS ALMOST THE SAME AS FIGHTING ROCKY FIELDING.

Anyone giving this praise is helping to turn boxing into a **** show. Alvarez is a joke. He is setting a bad example to all the other fighters by opportunistically cherry picking opponents who only look good to the casual boxing fan by superficially stat padding. He's also showing that if you cheat, you win and get to make a lot of money. He will never be able to make that weight without the help of anabolic steroids and other PEDs. It's just a fact.

Alvarez is cancer to the sport of boxing.

I'm going to directly address your questions

                  1) Which fighters had catch-weight disadvantages - Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Cotto and Khan (5 in a row all at 155lbs - that is ridiculous) before Chavez Jr at 164lbs.

                  2) Judges may not be his fault but if fully competent judges were in place maybe his record would be 54-4-1 or 55-3-2 and he wouldn't be the current cash cow of boxing.

                  3) A Mexican sanctioning body the WBC elevated the amount of clenbuterol needed to pop dirty essentially allowing whichever method of use that produced trace amounts to be swept under the carpet. You only have to look at how Mauricio Sulaiman handled oscar valdez's recent dirty test to realise that he will protect all Mexican Reynoso fighters no matter how much the boxing world is offended.

                  4) Canelo avoided both Charlo's at 154lbs as well Andrade, at 160lbs he should've faced a prime 33 year old Golovkin but ducked, stalled and then fought him at 35 and 36 years of age respectively, he avoided both mandatories at 160lbs in the form of Jermall Charlo and Derevyanchenko, at 168lbs it looks as though he is running away from WBC mandatory David Benevidez, and at 175lbs it looks as though he wants no smoke with the unbeaten champions there, Bivol and Beterbiev, the latter of which has a 100% knockout rate and is a unified champion.

                  5) The favourable treatment he is getting from the WBC is a new stroke for Canelo and has never been done before for any other A side. Never before has a concept such as "franchise champion" been used to protect a a fighter from facing a mandatory. Although it was also used in the lightweight division, make no mistake, the original concept was drawn up with Canelo in mind. Also the WBC is essentially letting him fight at a catch-weight of 190lbs - a comfortable fighting weight for him, for the cruiserweight title. The WB0, WBA and IBF all acknowledge the cruiserweight limit to be 200lbs but the WBC have especially lowered it to suit Canelo.

Canelo earned this one. I don't know anything about this Makabu guy, but this fight is for history, Canelo getting another belt at a fifth weight class would be history for him.
That’s how you know it’s a racial thing. They praise those guys for literally facing bums yet canelo moves up two divisions to face a champion and they manage to twist it into some BS. Lol

They non stop praised the biggest cancer in the sport Floyd Mayweather because of the color of his skin just imagine Floyd was Latino or white they would have crucified him for his tactics.

                    • This is Roy Jones vs John Ruiz 2.0, Canelo has earned the right to fight whoever he wants but as a fan there are much better fights we want to see with guys at and around his weight. Jumping up 2 weights to fight a guy who most fans don't know or care about who's not rated P4P or skill wise better then at least 5 realistic opponents from 160, 168 or 175 that Canelo could fight next. Canelo will easily outbox this guy like Roy Jones did John Ruiz.
